Okay, I think I've decided to go in layers and bring a backpack along if i want to take some off. I will also make a small fire in the pit that is already there. It will not be a particularly windy day either so i do not think embers would be carried to the surrounding woods. Thanks for all the advice guys
I once had to build a fire under red flag warning while tripping in the Santa Catalina mountains SE of Tucson. In my ethnogen stoked exuberance I had hiked from the desert floor to around 6000ft, It was dark, the wind had kicked up and my light jacket was inadequate for the drop in temperature at that elevation when the sun went down. I was slightly hypothermic by the time I convinced myself to go ahead and build a small fire to warm up. I was so paranoid about setting the woods afire, with the wind whipping and all, I barely let the it get going enough to heat up a couple of small rocks which I tucked inside my jacket, then I curled up around what was left of the fire and just waited for the sun to come up. Well, to my surprise and horror, when sun came up I could now see that I had built my fire just 50 yds or so from a forest service fire-watch tower!. Those dumbshits hadn't even seen my fire. I would have been sooo busted! hahaha ZW
Yup. My most profound trips were always alone. Hell, my first trip was alone. No one prepared me, I knew nothing about the effects of LSD. The older kids that turned me on just said, "Have fun, don't worry you won't notice the cold and you might not want to go home to your parents house for 5-6 hours..." The acid was 250 mic Swedish stamp blotter and I was 13 yrs old... It was in-fucking-creadible. ZW
lol fire building on acid 101. one time when i was tripping i built a fire in my friends backyard and mastered fire. LOL. i somehow ended up with this stick that would stay lit on the end like a candle. i could even blow it out and relight it whenever i wanted. 'twas pretty epic sitting there with my candlestick watching the bonfire that was built from such small beginnings.
it doesn't have anything to do with me, bro, so you can take this shit and fuck off on the real for your information i didn't even know i was going to a bar. my cousin told me we were gonna go hang out with some peoples and it'd be cool if i went - seeing as i wanted to socialize more i was down and then i realized it was a bar when i got there. for real it isn't like i made a report about anything so you really don't know what went down. lame ass i've tripped acid twice yeah, and it really ISN'T a smart idea to be making a fire your first time tripping is what I'm saying...especially in an environment that has been having severe wildfires that have burnt down peoples' homes (people that i actually know)...but i mean i'm only a rook so what the hell do i know about tripping and endangering other peoples' lives and shit, right? ignorance is bliss fuckin people getting all uppity and shit for no reason.
Bonfire? hehehe yeah I guess there's a little 'Beavis' in all of us..(Fire!,Fire!) A good rule of thumb I was told when I was young is to always build an 'Indian fire' not a 'white-man fire'... What is the difference you may ask...well, White-man build big fire, stand way back...:cowboy: Indian build small fire, get real close...:indian_chief: ZW
lol good advice. it was a pretty open area and somewhere that had already been established as a fire pit, so there wasn't any real fire hazard.
dude is straight up wiseman. listen up everyone! if you're lucky you might just be able to burn 1000 acres!! RESPONSIBLE drug use. it doesn't take much AT ALL in a dry climate before a small fire can get out of hand. and it happens quick, even if you aren't impaired give a hoot
Chill dude it's really not that big of a deal. You take responsibility for your own actions when trippin. m'kay? ZW
im chill as a cucumber, you chill. just go chill on my chilltastic couch. the chill zone. see what i'm wearing? a kimono dawg what are you wearing? a suit yeah, exactly. for real though, first time trippin, fire warnings, fire in general. lame idea. even lamer when duderino here exalts the act as life changing, when in reality it's just a fucking retarded risk to take, completely unnecessary for the experience...just sayin..
Look purp if there is a fire warning going on the op should probably heed that. But if the fire pit is in a good spot with no warning I definitely recommend it. zombiewolf is absolutely right that it can be a very profound experience. It probably is not the best idea to start a fire at like hour 3 of the trip but at like hour 6-10 when the trip has plateaued it can be absolutely amazing. It becomes metaphorical for the trip, and just stimulates deep thought and soothes the soul. The constant flickering of the flames provides great eye candy as well. The simple things really standout on psychedelics.
i mean, he'll listen to whatever he thinks is best. i think it's just lame for both of you to be ignorant and shit, not to mention flame baiting
for sure, i've gotten to the point where i can go into a trip-like trance when i'm in nature without the aid of any psychedelics. but psychedelics sure are nice lol this is why I love hallucinogens. At some point everyone has built a fire and lit the end of a stick with the fire, but on hallucinogens it takes on epic proportions. You didn't just build a fire, you mastered it, and you didn't just light the end of a stick, you fucking sat there for hours experiencing the epicness that is the lit end of the stick. lol that shit makes me happy. i think i'm going to make a fire the next time I trip
