Growing mushrooms with..

DPT!
So, a friend of mine is looking into growing some mushrooms.

I've been looking at these studies done that state the theory that mushrooms would 4-hydroxolate whatever they come in contact with ("alien tryptamines").

So my question is the following:
How would I add some DPT to my substrate? Would it be as simple as mixing in some DPT with my spawn/bulk substrate mixture?

Hm, it seems like it would be interesting.

I suppose I'll try it out with a small batch of mushrooms, and maybe if all goes right I would be able to have access to a GC/MS machine so I could test a mushroom sample to see what comes out at the end.

somewhere in tihkal shulgin talk about getting mushrooms to produce analogues because the mushrooms are not illegal, the psilocybin in the mushroom is illegal.

Well, from what I have been able to gather, the method is "inject ____ into the mushroom mycelium". I figure that injecting the mycelium with whatever substance would be a good way to introduce contaminations.. it seems as if you want to mix it in as late as possible, but I think that it should work to mix some in with the spawn when spawning out to bulk substrate.

 

I have thought about this long and hard, and IMO, the best way would be to add your tryptamines to the water that you use to hydrate the bulk (not the water used to hydrate the grain) and your dunking water. Also, using a fairly inert substrate (such as a Rez-effect or maybe just spawning to coir) would likely give you more accurate results.

If you ever run this, make sure you use an isolate. MS varies way too much. And remember that a clone isn't always an iso. I've taken clones that had up to 8 sectors come out of it on agar.

I was planning on following approximately your bulk tek using WBS. I suppose I'll just do some containers of mushrooms spawned to bulk (coco coir), cased then placed in a Shotgun FC.

Then once I find the perfect specimen I'll already have studied up on my cloning and I'll get to seeding them species.

Quick growing question here - if I am using polyfill as my filter for my jars, does it matter if the polyfill is flame retardant?

Christmas time means big bags of 100% virgin polyester used as snow.. I was thinking I might not be able to find it and have to tear up a pillow. :sunny:

 

you dont want to use a pillow cause its done harbored dust and shit esp foreign SPORES!! ..

best to pick up a new bag its only a couple dollars. hypoallergenic/partly sterile and clean..

 

Exactly - I was thinking I would maybe have to use a pillow (maybe you could boil it? ) but then found that they sell 100% polyester as fake snow for Christmas decorations.

I was also maybe going to have to support Wal-Mart and get polyester from them but.. that would be against everything the mushrooms stand for
