Why is cannabis illegal across the globe?

I've read the stories about the hemp/pulp "conspiracy" in the US, and I know why cannabis was made illegal in Canada, but why is it illegal across the globe? I've never heard a reason why.

The United States asserts it's will around the globe. If you want to do business with the US then you have to follow their rules. Most of our forigen policy includes that to get aid from us or any loans or funting from the federal government that you need to follow the rules. Simple as that. We have been pusing our policys for years.

 

Because it will criple corporates imagine if weed was legal it would grow everywhere because at the end of the day that's what it is just a weed. So now that in mind no one I mean no one will get profit out of it!

It's a mind altering substance. In some countries you can even be killed for smoking weed. Some countries weed = a life sentence in jail. So if you are a pothead than the USA really is not that bad.

weed is a mild psychedelic and alters the way your mind thinks. People say they are more creative and blah blah blah when smoking. it's because weed alters your mind. some countries think that the mind should be clear and pure and not clouded by any type of drug. so they have harsh punishments for people who take this forbidden plant.

NL has no Weed illegality issues

 

I think there needs to be more smoke outs, or smoke ins, whatever you want to call them. Once a month people should all march down to a local government building, office, public park, etc. Somewhere of some importance in a public setting and they should all smoke weed. From noon to whenever. The police couldn't arrest everyone, they'd likely only bust people who got out of control, roudy, or were young. One day out of the year doesn't accomplish anything other than a day in the sun.
