I've sold a few paintings, only for $200 at most, and usually to close friends.

I never sold anything, but I'm in a very competitive city (there are a LOT of artists here) and I'm very busy with school. But I have given a few away to family.

I also know someone who sells her paintings. She's from Montreal but she doesn't make enough to live off of (just enough to buy more supplies and the odd desirable object.)

I'm considering doing flowers nd other pretty things, and selling them for 20-60$

I'm thinking about doing day trips to busy areas, and setting up a table or something

Everywhere I've lived you've needed a permit to do this, make sure you know what's up :)

That is why you wear a huge trench coat and have all your art inside to flash your customers with.. helps bypass the permit problem ;)

I have a lot of friends who are fantastic artists, and make their living on art.
My best friend is a artist, he supports himself on his art. He builds sculptures out of a lot of interesting things.
I have some other very talented artists living in my building too.
    I am a terrible artist!

I have had a few people inquire about buying some of my paintings. The problem I have is pricing. How do I set a fair price? I'm actually trying to get an inventory up and want to show at craft fairs and local exhibitions, so I'm considering putting together a brochure and eventually want to print business cards. My ideas, so far, are to sell prints either matted and framed or just the print. I really want to keep the originals, unless someone makes me a fantastic offer, and then only after I've scanned it so I can continue to make prints.

I've posted some of my work here. If anyone who is familiar with it would like to give me an idea for pricing, I'd appreciate it. Bear in mind that I won't be disappointed, embarrassed, or offended at whatever price someone suggests. I don't consider myself that good yet, so any painting that receives a suggested price will be a compliment to me.
