Well looks like its off to the woods with me or to an eco village. Take care america. Posted today after the passing of S510, reactions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOWvIZSTRwU"]YouTube - FDA in bed with corporate America
FUCK MANSATO and this is not just a domestic issue, it's an international one. government is supposed to protect us, fuck.
again, the local extension agent, who works with a farm-to-market non-profit, featuring a food co-op with local products, as well as processing and packaging for small producers - and has worked very hard to develop a local community garden and farmer's market - is in favor of the bill with the tester amendment i'm guessing i'm wasting my breath here, but there are conspiracy theories and there are real problems learn to distinguish between them, or forever be be distracted, and thus useless
btw, as far as i can figure, rt.com is the new weekly world news believe anything they say at the risk of appearing insane
talked some with the local food & ag development people this morning - non-profit, localvores, sustainable farm supporters they said there would be some nuisances for small producers, were going to be meeting with them to explain changes, offer help where needed they also said the benefits would probably outweigh the negatives - one reason the tester amendment was included is that it's acknowledged that big producers are the problem, and people are dying from unsafe food and, no, owning your own seed is not going to become a crime [got the rolled eyes response]
This is what they want you to believe but their actions over the past couple decades do not add up. Monsanto is intimately connected with the US government. Google the name "Rosa Delauro" and "Monsanto" in the same search and see what comes up.
Okay, watch the above clip, do some reading on S510. Now watch the documentary called Collapse: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Collapse/70123600?trkid=2361637#height1568 You know, I was just research how-tos about raising chickens. I was almost feeling optomistic for a second there--it seems a lot of people are getting into growing and raising their own food. A trend. A positive trend that cannot possibly take off nearly quick enough, but still. It's nice too see so many others on similiar, sustainable and independent paths. Then I see this S510 business. Livid, I take my bow out and do some target practice. I want to plant a skull and cross bones flag amidst my crops and come spring I just might. Now I'm going back outside, to face the cold again and chop some firewood, turn the compost, be productive. **edit** errrr....but let's do more research--it seems the bill passed on nov 30th, but then failed for some reason the next day: http://livingnotsurviving.com/2010/12/01/s510-dead-in-the-water-health-freedom-restored/ " But it turns out that Section 107 of the Senate bill contains a revenue-raising (i.e., taxing) provision. And such a provision is unconstitutional: “All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives,” according to Article I, Section 7, of the Constitution. Because the Senate violated the funding origination clause, the House has implemented a procedure known as “blue slipping” to block the bill, keeping it out of consideration and sending it back to the Senate."
