Remember the joy of painting with Bob Ross. I haven't seen it for years, but I was off school yesterday cos I was "ill" and it was on TV, I love that show, takes me back lol, I always used to watch it as a kid.

    Hes still on?!
I was home from school for a while as a kid because of an injury. Id set up my easel and paint in the den and paint along with him every day. Actually did some good paintings.
I loved his "happy little trees"

I love to watch The joy of painting ! Bob Ross had the most smooth and soothing voice .I swear he was better than Xanax for mellowing you out .I also learned a lot of cool techniques from watching .It was so sad to hear that Bob Ross dies but he will live on forever in that show .Thanks to the OP for starting this thread .

    Yeah. :)

Seems we don't see mellow people on TV anymore. Now it's mostly neurotic, high-strung people with a frustrated, constipated attitude.

That gives me a great idea. I'm going to make an entertaining painting show and even though I suck, I'll be smooth enough to convince the audience I'm good. Bob Ross is no longer around to show me up, it's my time to shine. :sunny:

  12. I only discovered Bob Ross last year. For some unknown reason they started showing his programmes in the mornings here in Spain. The guy was hypnotic, not just his painting style but his voice, his laid back attitude and not forgetting the squirrels that used to accompany him to the studio sometimes.I was shocked when I googled him to find out that he'd been dead for 10 years. RIP Bob!

Bob's wife died about two years before he did. On one of his shows he mentioned it and said that sad things happen sometimes. They showed a painting of his wife at the end of the show.

He didn't last too long after she passed.
