I'll get part 4 and 5 up a later if people are watching. Or you could just go to youtube and watch it.
I listen to his radio show when I'm bored. He basically repeats the same thing over and over. "The world is controlled by an elite few. You are all stupid sheep. They are killing you and plan to kill many more." If you research what he says it turns out he's not lying.
Yeah, he has some great things to say. But he's run out of material and repeats a lot stuff. Personally I think he's in it for the money. But he has a lot of intersting information.
I listened to Alan Watt for several years, beginning in 2007. When one starts to listen to him, they will be blown away by the amount of legitimate information he presents, and the amount of documentary evidence he provides. In this sense, he is legitimate. However, if one reads his "book," (which I downloaded; didn't bother buying it), there is much more information than he ever discusses on the radio. This is intentional, I think: on the show he will sometimes indicate that he is only scratching the surface of what he knows, but he never goes into any detail except to mention that the information is in his book. While it is true that the book contains a whole lot of verifiable information that he never discusses elsewhere, it also goes much farther "off the deep end." He discusses the encoding of language and the way it has been designed intentionally by the "elite few." He discusses the ancient mystery religions and shows their development through the ancient world and into the religious and other institutions of today. He also makes passing mention off cave-dwelling troglodytes, attributes meaning to certain words that are very hard to countenance, etc. He is in some ways brilliant, but I think he is also at least somewhat insane as well. There are also claims (very solid ones) that Watt plagiarized at least some of the content of his book from a (much, much crazier) man named Glen Kealey. There is an in-depth article on that situation here. The fact is, I think anyone who is not familiar with a lot of his information can learn a lot from Alan Watt. Everyone must be careful, however, not to follow him: he can teach us a lot of things, but he is not himself the truth. His work is flawed at best, bullshit at worst, so he certainly cannot be taken at his word. But no one can in the search for truth.
What was the point of plagerizing kealey? Didn't he realize that eventually people would find out? Maybe he thought he would make some quick cash and couldn't make a real career out of it.
