Have any ladies here got one? I'm thinking about getting one. I've got leaflets and google research but I was wondering if any *real* people (yes real strangers on the internet I've never met) have had an experience with it.

    - Can you feel it inside?
    - Do the little string things get in the way of sex? I know they are high up in the vagina but have they ever caught on his whatsit?
    - Have you ever had any problems with bleeding or periods? I had the implant, and had it removed because I had continual bleeding, I don't want to get another painful procedure and have it backfire!

Everyone is different I know but if I can get a few people's experiences I'll collate for averages ^^

Mine is a year and a half old.
I had loads of spotty light bleeding for 3 months and not so much as spotting since.
I occasionally feel something odd, but I have chronic pain issues and you tend to notice everything.
As for the guy: beased on length and depth of penetration.
One partner got poked once and he was a freak of nature.
normal guys, probably will never feel it.

I've had two. It was fairly painful to get put in, especially the second, but it wasn't a bad experience overall. I did have a LOT of spotting, so I had to have pantyliners with me at all times, which kind of sucked. I definitely couldn't feel it and neither could my husband.

It's definitely not a good idea to use a menstrual cup with an IUD, though. My NP said it was ok, but it pulled my first Mirena out - VERY painful!

Woo finally some responses! Thanks ladies :) I just had it fitted- I forgot I had a bloody cervix till they started poking around up there! Bit painful, still feel weird, but that's fine. I do have a menstrual cup and I was hoping to use it, but thanks Muna for the warning!

I have the Paragard IUD (no hormones & lasts for 10 years)....I have had mine for 6 months...My bleeding is A LOT heavier than before & the cramps are unbearable...I am in bed when I am on my period. I never know when its going to come & it sucks...but I have NOT had a child yet and apparently I have a small uterus lol....My bf cannot feel the string and loves it because we don't have to worry about babies if he cums in me :) Hope this helps, if u wanna talk about it let me know
