so tomorrow i am going back home from Uni for about 5 weeks! going to get to be with my family and see some old friends! i have managed to get an internship at a small lighting company over break! i think that it will be a cool experience and the money i am getting wont be bad either! i was planning on relaxing ALL break but i need some bread, and also this is a good opportunity to try my hand at something that i may want to do in the future.. well thats it.. does anyone else have a seasonal job or internship at the moment?
internship,, usually means you get paid very little or an internship may be either paid, unpaid or partially paid (in the form of a stipend).
nope but school im at now has co-op with airforce base.. fuck airforce base i dont want to work there. now my new school has co-op with private jet mfr.. that might be pretty good
i found out today that i have a good job at a restruant. He knows my dad and my grandpa, i feel that really helped even though i dont know if they like each other... you know Boss - "Ive got a lot of fucking of applications in for night dinner shifts" Me -"i don't care, ill work when ever." Boss - "how does 7am to 3 sound?" Me - "I don't care seriously." Boss - "ok when you can get the fuck out of this town" lol he swears so much i like it.
hell yeah! i haven't had a job since Spring time of this year..worked in retail..i am kinda looking forward to this..
Same my last job i quit in may, i quit for vaild reasons then left the state. Either way im happy made me day. Thats cool for you too!!
Winter is my last semester so I have to start looking asap...not looking forward to the searching process at all....maybe im just nervous. I just wanna work for a cool and laid-back design company
I start a new job monday. It's a warehouse job working 12 hour continental night shifts (2 days work 2 days off, 3 days work 2 days off 2 days work 3 days off etc. Not what i want to be doing to make a living but the pay is great (16.35, 17.35 when i work in the cold area. Full benefits and 3 weeks paid vacation. 12 hour shifts are gonna be rough but i like the fact that the longest my work week is, is 3 days and then i have 2 to whatever the hell i want (which will be producing music in about a months time when i have enough flow for the equipment i want)
that isnt bad pay at all man.. what is a 'continental' night shift? sweet benefits too! and what kinda music?
its the alternating days as opposed to a standard 40 hour work week. 24 hours work in 2 days, 2 days off. 36 hours of work in 3 days, 2 days off. 24 in 2 and then 3 off etc. There are different variations of continetal shifts though but this is how this one in particular works. Going to be making some hiphop, dubstep/trance and basically just experimental shit with a friend that has some pretty unique rhymes.
Ok, so hear i am, first day of work at my internship...Nice office setting, so far all of the other employees here have been really nice and are close to my age. I THINK that the few tasks i have been asked to do so far have been successful... I ate 4, .5mg clonazepam pills, with NO tolerance before coming to work today, and they are doing there job and adding a little extra fun into the mix! Time is going past quite quickly at the moment!
After Christmas break I'm supposed to get a job I'm thinking the movie theater that's 1 minute from me.
