    Hi all,

I'm looking for personal experiences getting a card in Maine and am interested in how conservative doctors have been with their recommendations.

I have chronic pain and neck spasming from shoulder injuries. They are severe enough to affect my sleep. Because of this, I smoke marijuana 4-5 nights a week. Also, I take high dose advil and aleve during the day because I can not have the side effects of marijuana at work. I have records of the injuries, sought treatment from an orthopedic specialist in the past(he said there was nothing to be done surgically and only recommended muscle relaxers), and currently see a physical therapist.

To be clear, I do have documented injuries and pain enough to seek treatment and medicate with NSAIDS regularily, but I am not terminally ill. I want a MMJ card because I feel that MMJ is safer than the opiates, muscle relaxers, and high dose NSAIDS.

Anyway, I want to seek a recommendation, but also don't want to waste the $ on a consult if there's no way I'll get one. In liberal states, I'd qualify, but I am unsure about Maine.

    thanks
