Tonight, for the first time ever the hockey game between Toronto and Montreal is being shown in 3D...you must have a 3D television and the goggles in order to watch it.. ..my sister produces full length videos for big bands, she told me that it is definitely huge with many many big bands set to release 3D concert videos..her company is releasing several very soon with several more in the works...not to mention all the recent movies that have come out.....I kinda feel left out cause i cant afford a 3D TV...i cant imagine wearing those goggles every night... has anyone seen one of these TV's?...are they worth it?
Remember that Honeymooner episode when Ralph and Norton were sharing a TV- -:2thumbsup: Alice wanted one of thier own> so she asks Ralph "why cant we have our own TV ,this is ridiculous sharing one TV"- - Ralph starts yelling " you know what I'm waiting for Alice - -3D Television- - jeesus that was in the mid 50,s- -who would thought Alice wouldve had to wait until she was about 100 yrs old - -haha
fuck 3d. the industry got off on the wrong grounds and people are eating it up like goldie locks gobbles porridge. isnt it common sense to make autostereoscopic tvs instead of those stupid glasses? the visuals being shown would demand different programming between autostereoscopic (glasses-less) and more manual stereoscopy. once the 3d technologies have sunken in more with this stupid glasses custom, it'll take a lot to reverse it. stupid stupid stupid. plus i'm pretty sure you don't need a 3d tv to watch 3d. you just need the right channel and glasses. think about it, the only difference that movies in the theaters have between 3d and normal is the reel (/movie file if its digital) and the distribution of glasses. FUCK TV COMPANIES AND THEIR 3D BULLSHIT on an insignificant sidenote, Nintendo is gonna release the new version of the DS that has an autostereoscopic screen, and its rumored that Nintendo would like to bring autostereoscopy to their next home console system. see at least someone is starting in the right direction. to answer your question, NO they are not worth it. wait a few more years and maybe
we still have a CRT. sometimes it goes all rainbow on us. we just watch movies and shows, cable is a scam. i watch most of my stuff online. when we need a new tv we'll get a flat screen, by then they should be even more affordable. after 3D they will probably make holographic tvs, or immersion VR. so IMO get a decent tv and then wait for those models to come out. my favorite thing about flat screens is how little space they take up. CRTs take up valuable real estate in living areas.
There was one auto-stereoscopic system released so far. There's sorta an arms race going on for them to release more practical ones, as the glasses are (quite reasonably) holding the 3d TV market back. I still can't believe that pile of crap Avatar is what reignited the craze..
lol, i didnt even see it in 3D. it was ok, and im sure it wsa really pretty in 3D, but i watch movies for the plot, not the special effects. now the planetarium, thats a good place for special effects.
lol everyone at home watching tv has to wear goofy glasses to enjoy entertainment. JOKE lol... until the characters run through my living room like they did when i was robo trippin i wont buy a 3d tv
i'll bet its probably just another waste of money brought on by the man. they sell them at best buy...
the tv i have now is at least 15 tears old..hand me down from my mom...i hope to have a flat screen within the next 5 years...i'm a bit behind the technology
