has anyone else experienced a permanent change in the way you perceive light since doing psychedelics? The very first time I ever tripped mushrooms I was driving home on the comedown and noticed a green glow around green lights; I've been seeing the green glow ever since. Car lights began having trails about three trips ago, and since the last time I tripped I've been seeing trails shooting from street lights. Christmas lights are crazy too, they all have trails that shoot up and down from each individual light. It weirds me out sometimes. Anyone else experience this?

Hmm... never permanent, but maybe for a few days or weeks after a strong 2c-e trip or something. Sounds like mild HPPD though, depending on your use. If you're using frequently try taking at least a 2 month break from everything, even weed if you can.

My vision does seem to have little "quirks" (especially around light) that may or may not have been there before, but I think it mainly has to do with blasting open synapses that were closed before and once they're open... well, you know :)

I know what you mean, especially with the street lights. I think SweetBlasphemy's right about it being mild HPPD. It's lame because I wanna trip but then I don't want my vision to get worse. But I think dosing a few months apart is a good idea.

Yah I got it from ecstasy and get 'roll backs' ocassionally, basically like an ecstasy flashback and I'll get all lightheaded and tingly. Sometimes certain songs I listened to while rolling will elicit this response.

A few little things. Like we have a black & white & gray checked baby blanket that kind of vibrates.

i had never heard of HPPD before, but I just looked it up and it certainly sounds like what I have.

sweet blasphemy, i know what you mean about blasting open synapses. once you open up parts of your brain that were closed, they certainly don't close again. I love it, but the light trails really do weird me out sometimes. I was out in ridiculous christmas traffic yesterday and lights were everywhere..it was almost like I was on a low dose trip.

as for not spacing my trips out enough, I don't think thats my problem. The only thing i ever really trip is mushrooms and I view them as sacred so I generally only do them about 4 times a year on average when i'm in the right state of mind. now that I think about it, the light trails and auras don't happen all the time, but they do occur sometimes when I haven't even tripped recently. i'm glad to know i'm not the only one that experiences this! thanks for the responses guys

Yeah I have the same thing, I always see trails now. I see rays of light as well and sometimes they even kaleidoscop. It's mostly just with lights at night for me but most everybody I know who trips alot has a little something extra added to their vision that wasn't there before. Idk, it might go away if you don't trip for a while but i've never tried that. In fact, I usually trip or roll at least once a week so, my HPPD hasn't gotten worse but it hasn't gotten better either. I like it personally, but to each his own.

You like it now but if you let it get out of hand, it can create some real problems.

How would it get out of hand exactly. I said that it hasn't gotten worse and it it started to I would stop taking any psychs for a while and rest my brain. To be honest with you i'm so used to it now that I don 't even remember what normal vision looked like. I still have better than perfect vision at 20-15 so for me it's really not a problem nor do I anticipate it becoming one, but like I said to each his own.
