Ive been thinking about taking a holiday somewhere in australia and possibly do it camping, has anyone done it before thanks
yes! Australia is immense. It's a good place for camping, many camp grounds, and you won't have any trouble finding them. I'd recommend southern parts of Australia, it wont be hot and humid this time of year. If your in Victoria, Wilson's promitry is a nice place with rocky wild territory with secluded beaches. I'd also recommended Tasmania (that island right down the bottom). It's like being on the edge of the earth. Pretty much anywhere you go there will be camping grounds. There's some really bland barren parts of Australia, but also some that are most 'mystical'. The aboriginals who lived here (for 40,000 at-least) are one of the oldest cultures on the planet, and when you travel through their land you'll see how resourceful and clever they must have been when they were nomadic. -much knowledge still exists in arhnem land up north. You need a permit to go there though =) The impact of colonization and the western world hit them hard, which is sad... that aside, If you like the wilderness, amazing rugged landscapes that dwarf you, you won't be dissapointed =)
Yeah i camp alot in the bush, if i were you i would head away from the citys tho, just find a patch of dirt and set up camp. Mozzies are out and about abit because of all the water, just watch out for the youies the dance in u fire and sleep in the trees, cool creatures just watch them tho. ; )
I manage a park in northern NSW....right on the beach....just avoid peak tourist seasons, or you could miss out on a spot. Seaside camp sites are snapped up a year in advance sometimes
