Any family out there live in RVs? Let's connect. I love to see a nomadic tribe of Rainbow Family living in RVs. Beauty of RVs is they aren't cop magnets like school buses. Let's connect! I'm up in Portland, OR but park out in Troutdale. Awesome music scene up here if you love Bluegrass and Americana music.

I recently bought a 79 Dodge Sportsman Companion 24' RV. Am wintering in Troutdale, OR while I get her 100% road worthy. I have owned school buses converted and 1 convert old 1955 Greyhound and they was just cop magnets. I prefer RVs now and am looking to gather hippies and Rainbows RVers to form a nomadic community. Maybe even create a Rainbow Family form of say the Good Sam Club. Wouldn't that be awesome? Rainbow RV Rallies/Campouts.

Let's definitely connect heyit'sme. With the economy the way it is, RVing is the way to go. They say there is over 1,000,000 full time RVers in America. I been reading a lot of books by these senior citizen who have created this safe haven RVing communities. Don't see why us hippies can't do the same.

Surfers everywhere know that the surf trip begins where the waves break best and ends when the fun runs out. I've been told there are about 100,000 Airstream owners worldwide.

Truck campers are ideal. They are way overpriced at the camper stores. I wander if I can build one. I don't think they need to be licensed like campers on wheels or RV's.

i did the rv life for a year and got fed up with it. for one thing they're small (and i had a 38 footer) and i still had to go to the laundromat (mine had a built in w/d but they're super small and the dryer was one of those swedish ones that only partially dry the clothes...but most don't have a w/d). then there's the need to park it and using an rv park costs at least 250/mo plus utilities...then there's the lack of land to call your own. sure you can live in the forests but they all have time limits before you need to move on...those are my thoughts.

after living the life for a year and using the rv for another 5 years afterwards before selling it i'm happy once again after settling down in a 100 year old house i found on ebay for 25k...and living happily ever after (so far...!)

(another thing...insurance and gas...LOTS of gas! ins. was 1200/year too)

Wow, I only pay 112 a year for my RV insurance.
Did the policy have the RV as the only/primary vehicle?
