Hey everyone,My name is Matthew. There is nothing more I would enjoy than trying out this lifestyle and beleive I would be a great fit.I am young (28),big,strong,have NO problem pulling my weight, and love gardening, and building.I am very personable and sociable with all types of people.I am absolutely intrigued with cobb homes.I have many years experiance in residential framing, many other aspects of construction, and maintain a garden for the past several years.I am also a good hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.I am currently working on an associates degree in horticulture at Lansing community college.I am intelligtant,an have done alot of research on modern communal living, and beleive I have a good idea what it takes, what is expected, and what I would be getting into.Walking away from school,or my current job would be no problem. The ONE problem is being too far away from my six year old daughter to be able to visit when need be,or I just plain miss her.She would visit, but not live permantely.Ive come to accept the reality that she will live with mom and i will get visits.I just need to be able to drive, albeit 3,4,5 hours,to get/see her when need be.I just dont seem to fall in any of the slots of normal society, nor do I want to.It would be so ideal to find a nice group to join,or help start from the ground up.I am a physicall labor machine. As long as everyone was freindly, honest, and happy,I would be a great asset to any situation. Thanks for reading.Id like to hear any and all feedback.
Have you looked through theIntentional Communities site? The map system they have is really nice. A lot of listings there are garbage, like gated retirement communities and so forth, but some are good & you might find what you're looking for. Also trying looking at long-term WWOOFing positions. Many times they will actually be communal living type arrangements, or very similar. For this I would suggest Wandering WWOOF or WWOOF-USA. WWOOF-USA charges for access to their listings, but if you'd like a free copy of the listing for your or another state, let me know and I can send it to you. Good Luck!
