    Hey guys,

if there is a 'you', then what is its form and where does it exist?
Is it a soul, spirit, or something similar to that?

Or is it true that there is no 'you'.

Eckhart Tolle talks about that in his book "the power of now" however I think it evades most listeners to take a close enough look into this fact.

When I was younder I used to read around about Taosim, and I'd practice meditation, I'd listen to Ekchart Tolle and become present as much as possible.

I had brief sensations of satori, and a lingering peace within,

however, after the realization that there isn't anyone behind this human experience, everything changed.

    There is no you.

Let me know how you guys see this in concrete real life. I'd like to know if you find the same thing.

Cause if we are adding the same numbers with the same elements (objective reality) Id assume we would come up with the same numbers.

It occurs to me, just now so pardon me if it's...dumb, lol, that there are three ways of looking at self. I'll list them in order from more relative to ultimate. First, there is this "self" that most people think about as self. the mind-body complex. Then there is a higher self, the consciousness that is aware of all aspects of the lower self. You could call this a soul. Then there is the ultimate, that which you may or may not call self. Namely the all is, the absolute non-separation making up all that is. Since that is the same for me and you and anyone else, it's debatable whether you want to call it self or not.

'Liberation' and 'satori' are not really Taoist terms but Buddhist.

Self is the point of consciousness that has access to your memories, has an inner dialogue or doesnt.

I dont think the realization of oneness can be explained.. instead cultivated over time by living by the Way.

Words will only confuse the situation, as they always do.
