Those apps on your phone, whether iphone or android or whatever, are watching your every move, literally! An investigation by the Wall Street Journal found that more than half the apps reviewed were sending information about the smartphone owner's location, age, gender and phone identifiers to various ad networks. They did this without informing the user or asking permission first.

So beware your smartphone. It's not only smart, but it's leaking your personal information across the Internet.

This just furnishes further reason for me NOT to own a cell phone.... not that I needed any more excuse.

Ive still never owned a cell phone to this day. Sure there have been moments ive needed one but I think cell phones can cause a lot more problems then planned. Not to mention you pay out the ass to the cell phone companys and they give you free phones so your there bitch for 2 years.

"Turn on, tune in, drop out"

Weather you're online via a smart phone or a desktop computer, choosing to "drop out" is becoming less and less of an option with the exponential rate of technical advances.

NOTE: This is virtually the same with facebook apps.

    *sniff, sniff*

Dropping out is easy and hard.
It's easy because all you have to do is stop using this shit.
It's hard because you actually have to make a decision to stop using this shit and stick to it.

    Am I paranoid ?

FUCK YEA!! But I think it's about high fucking time people started getting paranoid. They're taking away your freedom in "small pieces" every single day. One day enough people are going to wake up and scream, "oh my god we're all fucking slaves." But by then, it's going to be too late.

The global plan is to reduce us all to 3rd world conditions. And when that happens, even your mothers will be sucking cock on a street corner to make enough money to try and feed their sick un-watched child some milk.

Lazyness and denile, together they build the toughest chains of enslavement.

And literally EVERYONE reading my comments knows that I'm speaking the truth. But it's your fucking enslavement, enjoy it one facebook friend at a time.

Personally for the time being, I use a serverly moderated approach.

I have a cell phone. And you know what it does ?
NOTHING. I use pre-paid cards and it looks like a throw back from 10 years ago. But it calls and does the job.

    Samething with the fucking Internet.

I have a computer specifically for surfing. It runs windows 98 and there is nothing on it but Internet Explorer and Firefox. Anything else I want to do on the computer is on another computer that is not connected to the net and has no wifi access at all. And I make sure these 2 computers NEVER exchange any kind of data.

As for everything I do online,
My email is registered with bullshit information. I never created a facebook account and I never put my photos online. If someone requests a photo of me, I surf google images and find someone that "might" be mistaken for me with bad photographic conditions.

I think when you sign up for these apps it tells you what they will do.
Don't like it? Don't add the app.
It isn't the phone company passing on your info.

Cellular phones continue to communicate with the network. Even when phone is not in use.. I had worked for a small company that tested cellular phones. Spent most my time doing so in the fire escapes of tall building, inside the elevators. (if your sitting at a small little desk set up inside the elevator with 5 phones on a small table. people tend to ask questions. lol. but thats what we did. This was back when the blackberry was new to the market( not in color like it is today (it was also GPS in its infancy.....

When you look at the bars on the phone, its communicating now. When it has full bars its using less power to receive. When bars drop the unit must use more power to catch the signal. thus deadening the battery faster.. So if your phone is in your desk drawer at work or put away. Then you pick it up seeing the phone battery is weaker(you may assume there is a problem with your phone. There is not. The problem is where youre placing the phone when not in use. As it is still communicating with the network and working overtime to do so..

I knew then these phone were capable of finding the caller. Thats what we did, working on locations of the phone to the towers. Pin pointing them no matter where they were. If you was hiding in the elevator shaft. We would know where you was. This isnt fantasy CSI tv show. This is real life traceable carrier wave signals.. Therefore someone thats been kidnapped will be found should they still have the phone. It is not 100% accurate , but a mobile tower station can process the siglnal in the same manor a tower does. Picking up from where the signal fell off..

it will be so that the glass house we have made with cellular networks would be no different than the Radio talk show talent person. You may not know them personally.. But in due time the info will be downloadable (wiki). And just as the caller on the phone, you may soon add the Apps to see the pic of the person, personal info- more advanced caller id systems. Maybe even a reputation system for annoying companies that call people ..

speaking of cell phones lol, my work on has gone off(have to leave for a minute).. Sure there is an application there to make sure im here/there, or on my way to a call.. If you dont want them knowing where you are, you just dont own one..

Has anyone seen those commercials from Bank of America telling everyone that you can pay your ALL your bills from your phone?

I wish everyone would wake up, take all your money out, and let the company crumble onto its self.

Finally, someone with intelligence and common sense.

I have a rule that I follow. If I wouldn't let you get something from the medicine cabinet in the bathroom because I'm already in there taking a dump. Then you have no right to any of my private or personal information.

As it stands, my wife, my mother, my sister and my daughter can come enter the bathroom when I'm in there. So I guess they are the only people that can ask me personal questions.

Wish I had a nickel for every one of these "it's 1984!" rants I've heard in my lifetime. I'm old enough to remember when computers were brand new, and people were screaming then about how the government would use Univac or Brainiac or whatever the hell it was called to monitor everyone.

If you're really concerned about this, here's what you should do:

    1. Get rid of your telephone, whether cell or landline. The phone company has been keeping detailed records of your calls since forever. You didn't know that?

    2. Quit your job. This is so your name, address, and income information doesn't get reported to the IRS, which uses it to track you down if you owe them. And they will find you. They also loan the information to law enforcement agencies.

    3. Disconnect all your utilities ... electricity, gas, etc.

    4. Stop using those "membership cards" at the grocery store, the ones that give you a discount. Well, of course they're also used to track your purchasing preferences, which is the main reason for them in the first place. It's not to save you money.

    5. Pay cash for everything. Stop using cards. For that matter, stop using banks altogether (of course, the good news is if you follow #2, you probably won't need one anyway). Your bank has records of all your credit/debit card transactions, which they can use to monitor your financial situation and purchasing preferences.

    6. Don't buy a house. Been through a home mortgage credit check lately?

    7. Don't buy a car. Ditto on the credit check. Plus, your home state will want you to register it. The police can run a check on your license plate in seconds.

    8. Don't rent an apartment. Most property managers these days also require a credit check. Incidently, I can remember a time when you checked out them, because you were the customer.

    9. Get rid of all your insurance on your home, your car, your health, and your life. The insurance companies have tons of personal information about you.

    10. Don't vote.

    11. Don't get a passport.

    12. Don't attend college.

    13. And whatever you do, don't have any dealings with any government agency ... the VA, Social Security, or anything else. They'll want to collect tons of information.

There, that should just about do it.

The option to turn on and off your location on a cell phone really freaks me out, because it always says "location is now off and will only be available to local law enforcement."....the fuck? Thats the last organization I want finding my location.

this line of thinking bothers me. What if your definition of something to hide differs from the government's definition?

this is new to me...smart phone app?i can see how a parent might want this feature on a phone of their kids...just never my kids.......it is a common technique of police to search your phone pics and even email your entire contacts list to themselves while you are busy being patted down back at their car.....i could also see them sending fake apps through the provider to do weasally things with
