Who will the Tea Party support in 2012?

Not a fan of the Tea Party, but they could make life interesting in 2012 if Ron Paul and Sarah Palin both run for the Republican nomination.

Ron Paul was the founding father of the Tea Party. His followers were very devoted and helped him raise ungodly amounts of cash in single day "money bombs." Those same supporters help send Paul's son, Rand, to the senate representing Kentucky. Now that Sarah Palin has come on the scene she has highjacked the Tea Party with different views on many of Paul's key issues.

Who will the Tea Party align themselves with if they both decide to make presidential runs in 2012? And as I write this that is a very good possibility. Could this splinter the republican party to the point of non repair and we finally see a 3rd major party pop up?

I myself am hoping that they run against each other and even throw Gary Johnson from New Mexico in the mix and make it a republican battle royal for the Tea Party vote.

Ron Paul will be too old by 2012(76 I think?). I can imagine Rand Paul going in as VP in 2012, or his own bid in 2016. It's hard to say who will ever win the primaries, especially since for 2012 both parties are supposed to have worked out a better system where every state is closer together in primary voting I believe so one candidate can't take an early lead(or win big on super tuesday) and roll with that momentum.

Some old names will probably come up too, Bloomberg will probably run, possibly as an independent(he and some others started an independent group this week), which raises a lot of questions, because despite being a Republican before dropping out of the party, he would definitely be a Democrat in a good deal of states, so he can draw votes from both sides. Plus Romney will probably run again, but he'd never be supported by the tea party, Huckabee could be though)

I doubt they'd get behind Sarah Palin, the vast majority of people see her as unqualified and unelectable. Then again we elected Dubya twice, so maybe I'm underestimating the gullibility of the American voter.

Ron Paul said in his own words that him starting a presidential run in 2012 is 50/50 chance.

I would vote for DeMint, Jindal, Bachmann or Pawlenty. I don't know who should run as the running mate for VPOTUS. Palin would be a good leader, but I think her name has been tarnished, and can't get the votes.

As a side note, I know this is a little bit of a tangent, but in the future I would vote for Marco Rubio, Alan West or Rand Paul for pretty much anything.

The next president most likely is already chosen by the elite. Im guessing that obama will run for another 4 years then someone similar will be next.

The important thing is Sarah Palin will never win. General primary alone I don't think she could ever carry western and eastern states, and the deep south I see going more for Huckabee than her. More importantly though, she's too thin skinned, really it's her fatal flaw she's not good at taking criticism which is a pretty big part of running for president. Since 2008 she's been the dandy darling of the Republican party but eventually that's going to change when people actually start having to run against her.

Palin wont ever make it. It scares me that she was ever a Governor. The endless statements she made during the 2008 election i think lowered my own IQ. Search youtube, you might her say she can see russia from alaska, or, is africa a continent? or how north korea is a ally. lol.........

She is a disgrace to all women. I can't imagine anyone with a brain would think of her in as a choice.

    I wouldn't worry about her.

Everyone makes mistakes when they talk, politicians of various educational levels from both sides, it's always just fun to make fun of it when it happens with politicians we don't like. However when she couldn't name a single publication she read during that interview, that was terrifying. Like really, not one, you couldn't even just be really general and say your local paper, or even something not about politics like National Geographic.

It scares me that she has had ANY political power. Everyone makes mistakes but hers have been over topics too basic, to answer wrong, at such a level of power.

Palin would make a excellent president. She had a stellar record as governor and the best quality she has that I support is being for domestic Oil and Gas drilling here in the states.

Stellar record, made rape victims pay for their own test kits and resigned to do a reality TV show instead of being governor.

No. I am serious. Palin had a record that garnished her a 90% approval rating as governor. She would be great for the country. She's pro military, pro drilling, pro 2nd amendment rights and pro life and lastly she is against illegal immigration. We need someone that will restore pride and patriotism back into America. Have you seen her actual record as governor or do you just listen to what the media tells ya?

Dubya was well respected in Texas while governor but he was still a gawd-awful president, almost as bad as Palin would be.
