    Hi,

Having a problem with spider mites and white mildew control. Problem isnt as bad as it could be. Ventilation and temp control are good. Have intermittently tried treating with plants showering, Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), 2% rosemary oil (SNS), Dr. Dooright's. Neem and AzaMax

Right now, unless we loose everything, a complete breakdown and scrub out is not a current option. The grow is for a 4-person medical collective and 2 members suffer from excruciating and debilitating pain. Cant afford other options right now.

Any advice or specific product recommendations would be appreciated, especially if you have had first person experience and success.

    Thanks so much!

Hmmm. Interesting. ive used bleach for container and wall scrub downs but never directly on plants. Are you saying you sprayed your solution directly onto shade leaves and buds and the plants survived?

    Thanks,

I use green cure for the mildew. best used as a preventive, but it can also be used to control it once it is there. Has always done the trick for me. What stage are you on? they claim you can use it up until harvest, but I normally stop the last couple weeks. I normaly use the Drdorights for mites. That didn't help you? Like you said do a real good cleaning of all equipment before your next run. If you have access to a sulfer burner that does wonders on mildew. if it is early enough in your cycle.

yes, home made pepper spray using habinaros (small orange ones {bad spelling}) works.
I made up a batch based on a recipe i found online once.

It helped visibly and is all natural.

here is a quick search i did w/ a similar recipe:

it is my experience that you cant spray those products on a budding plant...if it is a severe out break on close to mature buds there is very little you can do....anyone i know has cut out the bad areas and made bubble hash out of the bad weed....also. 'everything on wheels'...this allows one to empty a grow room in minutes... ....

scrub clean the air in the room by using any means necessary.....make sure you replace all filters at the same time as cleaning your fan blades...do you have ducting?....wipe out the intake .....

    .good luck spicey

There is an organic pesticide that sells under many brands in diffrent parts of the country whose main ingreient is capseisium(sp?) same as pepper spray. Also try Neem again. I mix it with dishsoap and filtered water.

Potassium bicarbonate is the active ingredient in Greencure (http://www.greencure.net) and you can make your own natural, gentle fungicide. It can be found at shop that sells wine-making supplies or of course online. Sodium bicarbonate is effective but near as much as the potassium bicarb and the sodium can change the electrolyte balance of the soil if you use too much. Adding a spreader/sticker will help keep the solution in place but you can reapply every few days and get the same results. Totally do-able with a small grow.

I discovered some itty-bitty mite-like creatures in the soil around my plants ( in plenty big enough containers)...but, so far (thank goodness) there is no obvious problem with the plants.
I got some Sevin Dust and put it all down (mixed it) in the top 1" to 1 1/2" of soil, plus covered the soil at the top, at the end.
Is anybody familiar with what I'm talking about - little teeny (but definitely there and enough for me to see them!) bugs I'm thinking are some type of mite? As I already said...so far, so good with plants. But still, hate to take chances at this stage...
