estate. whomever is the executors of jimi hendrix estate can go eat shit and die! just today, i got a christmas present, of the devo movie on dvd of, "the complete truth about de-evolution." i first saw 'the complete truth about de-evolution' back in 1980 on mtv. (you all remember, when mtv stilled play music videos, before mtv turned to shit.):ack2: i had the devo movie for years on video tape. i played it so many times i wore out the tape. on the old devo video tape, there was devo's version of jimi hindrex's "are u experienced?" on the dvd i got today, devo's music video of "are u experienced?" is not there. the reason for that, is, because, the current executors of jimi hendrix estate denied devo the rights to use it on dvd... WTF??? it was allowed on video tape, but not on dvd! i'm soooooooo pissed off over this that, i'm tempted to contact jimi in the afterlife, and let him know what has gone down. i'm sure, jimi would be willing to crawl out of his grave, and do us all the favor of, doing the zombie thing, by eating up the shitheads that are the current executors of his estate!
It was received as a gift... and as hard as it is to believe, people are allowed to have musical tastes which differ from yours. I know it must come as a shock...
Seems a short-sighted stance to take... surely they'd still be getting some kind of royalties for allowing its use, and as executors they should be looking to maintain income ?
