Alex Jones is an idiot, well actually he's brilliant, in the fact he feeds off the internet age's ignorance and paranoia by piecing together half truths and connecting vague points while marketing it en masse to the internet.

since it should be apparent by now that no one should have voted for obama, we can go back to the usual pattern of merely voting against a candidate

so, if enough disgusted democrats stay home, a republican will be elected

if the republicans run someone repulsive enough, perhaps democrats will hold their noses and go to the polls, and obama will be re-elected

if the tea party goes rogue and runs a third party candidate with enough moron appeal to actually get votes it will be a landslide

Loose change we can believe in?

I do not know at this point... there's speculation that the timing of the latest unemployment benefits extension together with the characterization of the Republicans as the party of "NO" is intended to blunt the tide of popular disapproval over what has happened since Obama's inauguration. To me, the concept of meaningful reform via elections is a farce that too many people buy into so while I do not give his re-election campaign much chance of success I do not buy into the notion that anything is going to change regardless of the results. I don't think either party is above the subtle blackmail inherent in holding the lifeline of unemployment insurance in the balance to get the hand-to-mouth class to vote on the basis of panic as opposed to more meaningful issues. Of course it doesn't matter anyway because the clown college hopefuls aren't really going to make good on any campaign promises anyway.

The national sex party will commence when the taxpayers get severely fucked by the increased tax burden of the new government entitlements related to the health care bill kick in and the truth shines through the rosy sales pitch about it being affordable for the so-called "middle class" and the truth about the lack of controlling costs in the thousands of pages of "disclosure" becomes painfully evident; I seriously doubt that it'll matter who takes the oath on January 20, 2013. If making health care more affordable for us were really a priority then there surely are other ways of going about dealing with the spiraling costs other than expanding the gargantuan bureaucracy that is the United States federal government.

Looking at various polls, it would appear that Obama retains a 20-30% strong support consistently, so I wouldn't count him out in 2012.

i think i voted yes when this poll came out.. cant really remember. my answer right now is a def no. i don't like what his administration has been doing lately, and i know i cant put it all on him personally but he is the president. the feds are just gaining more power and socially i haven't seen any real improvements from this president compared to the last.

that was my main reason for voting for him in the first election. i was looking forward to some social change.. not expecting America to become a utopia overnight, but i don't think there really has been any real progress towards any social issues.

the last time i remember being really happy with him was when he said the Cambridge pigs where acting like idiots but he went and botched that up. i could be wrong tho and am def willing to hear where someone thinks im wrong.

HOWEVER im def not voting for a GOP or Tea party candidate the way those parties are acting atm. i might not vote at all, it was exciting when it was my first time voting but now its just seems depressing.

How did I miss this thread? I would have had a lot of fun with the guy that said Obama was muslim...

    anyways..

At this point, I'm not even sure I care about a candidate's political platform to be perfectly honest. I would just like to see a politician that doesn't live in corporate america's pockets.

I think Obama might be better than most in that respect, but I also think he's probably done his fair share of compromising in the name of big business. He's also had to bend a lot due to the Republican controlled congress. I think a lot of his ideas may have been formulated with good intent and plausible action to follow through, but by the time any bills make it through congress they end up being completely watered down and dismantled from their original intent.

I would like to see Obama re-elected. I don't think he's the best president we've ever had, but he's far from the worst and he's certainly better than anyone the Repulicans have to offer except Ron Paul.

I would love to see Ron Paul run, but hes far too radical for the right wing. I think Ron Paul is one of the few politicians in congress with actual principles and I like how he consistently stands up for his principles despite any adversity thrown his way. Ron Paul is exactly what this country needs. I don't know why there is so much partisan argument concerning bigger government because both sides have been working together the last 10 years to make our government HUGE. Ron Paul would scale it back, way back, and I think thats exactly what we need.

All politicians are beholding to Corporate campaign funders.

Congress has been controlled by Obamas own party the past two years, and the Republican party has been irrelevant.

    I like Ron Paul too.

It would depend on the surface shape and direction traveled which might allow you to end up returning to where you began.

Actually Sarah would be a great prez or VP, but I don't think she could ever get elected because her name has been tainted by those that hate liberty. Plus, she stepped down from her post in Juneau. So, I think she is a little unreliable. But that is the only critique I have of her.

What the fuck is wron with this country... Why are we a place willing to re-elect Obama on the grounds that "he is better than bush" This douche nozzle has given our health care system to the big industries. Before you start saying government healthcare is great all you damn non americans should know that this system is nothing like canadas or the european countries. It is not run by the government but by private companies through the government thus taking even more money from us and giving it to these upper class fucks. most politicians are the same whether they claim left or right

I kind of agree with you. Obama is definitely destroying the Health Care industry, along with a lot of other things. And our system is different from that of other countries, so their system won't work here. But there is one problem I have with what you said; How is Obama better than Bush? Liberalism is the problem here, liberalism is destroying America. Bush was too liberal. Obama is WAY to liberal. How is being more of a problem "better".

Now, I am no professor. And I have noticed that many people are more educated than me in their liberal ideology. But I am going to say, as someone that is not really educated in these matters that John Maynard Keynes was wrong. Alexander Hamilton was wrong. Clinton, FDR, Carter and LBJ were wrong. And now Barack Hussein Obama is wrong. I know may seem impudent to say all those powerful men were wrong, but they were.

No,you're no professor. Answer a few questions for me,if you would. Who was the last president to balance the budget? Who was president when our economy and thereafter the world economy went toes up? Who was president when the wars started? Which party voted against women's rights?Which party voted against integration? Which party presently does not want and will not vote for regulations on the banking industry? Which president probably saved this country from going socialist(which I think would be more inclusive) or communist in the 30s by coming up with the CCC and WPA? Which party voted against social security and wants to "privatize it" now so that the wall street and banking interests can get ahold of it?Now,Palin is a know nothing which most of the world population would not respect and would realize,if she were elected ,that the people in this country have finally gone completely round the bend. You need to set your sights a little higher, methinks. I don't like conservative thought ,mainly because it always wants to remain in the past =no progress -and because conservatives are always against working people. Who killed the Kennedys and MLK? Progressives? I think not. Obviously it was conservative factions. There ya' go.

Yes, as a nation we're always hell bent on doing things our way even when when it doesn't work well, everything from health care to prisons.

Size of the circle indicates the frequency of visits to a general practitioner, and trust me ours isn't small due to the fact Americans are just oh so healthy:

Except Norway, Norwegians are so healthy they apparently don't even need a circle.

    *edit*
And why didn't you include Nixon, see you're just being partisian. Nixon on a lot of issues was probably one of the most liberal presidents of the past 40 years. Forget Republican, he probably wouldn't even be able to get nominated as a Democrat today either.

There should have at least been a government option like the Dems wanted, but I'm sure Obama wanted socialized medicine, bottom line. Insurance companies need to go the way of horse transportation. The reason legislators ,mostly repubs, don't vote for regulations on insurance, banking,or any big industry ,ect ,is that regulations interrupt the cycle. The cycle being -you vote like we want you to and we'll give you huge bucks to run your campaign. You give me huge bucks to run my campaign and I'll vote like you want me to. Round and round she goes. Thus we have our corporatocracy. Now that the CONSERVATIVE Supreme court has voted to allow unlimited corporate donations, the corporatocracy is further entrenched. Adios democracy.
