tuff day, chipping away at the ice, helping with x mas decorations, and a hot bath followed by strawberry cheese cake.

Not what I would have been doing in 68

    How bout you folks?

Not so tuff day - I went to the beach - perfect weather, cool with lots of sun.

Watched a video American Pie and now just surfing the Web and about to go to bed.

Not what I woulda done in 68 (except being nude on a beach)

    Ewwww!

Spent most of the day running around town doing errands, then had dinner with a friend and went to bed early. Not terribly different from 1968, except that I wouldn't have gone to bed alone.

The ice has been an ongoing project-we received a winter storm about two weeks back, temp went down to as low as -40 (that's minus 40 F for my American friends) with the wind chill and the plow keeps clearing the street. It keeps freezing and blocking the entrance. It's warmed up now. Minus 6 yesterday. Thanks to the gods- my exercise regime keeps me fit enough to do it myself

It's a trade off- we get cold and snow- you get tornadoes and earthquakes.

    Peace

    Everything is a trade-off, isn't it? ... LOL

We don't have tornadoes in Arizona ... well, I suppose we could, but it would be very unusual ... we just get those July/August days where it's about 9,000 degrees.

But of course, it's dry heat, so it's ok :)

Saturday morning I worked (from home/office/studio producing illustrations) while the wife visited our good friend Christopher Pittman at SCDC (South Carolina Department of Corrections). Mid-day a friend, DZ (DangerZone) and his wife dropped of my truck (81 Chevy C-10). He had borrowed it Friday night to haul equipment to a gig. We chatted for a spell. Saturday afternoon, my youngest son and I loaded up his 650 Ninja into the truck and drove 1 1/2 hours to the guys house who bought it from him. Got home early evening and my wife and I "baby sat" for my two granddaughters.

NO, this is NOT what I would be doing in the 60's. Not by a long shot. Instead of drinking coffee this morning to wake up, I'd probably be rolling from Saturday night and smoking a joint to chillax.

    Wow, how times change.

Actually any cold in the minus zero range has to be dry. Water doesn't exist in liquid or vapor below 32. Tho I remember those clear, sunny -0 days in St. Louis when I was a kid. It was kinda invigorating - for a while.

Ultimately tho, when I discovered that there were parts of the world where that kinda weather didn't exist, I moved.

Went to the grocery store - then layed around for most of the day. Pretty much the same as 1968 except in 68 I would have been floating above the couch.
Cook a steak w/ baked potato and sour cream. In 68 it would have been 3 bags of cheetos or maybe an oyster pizza at Shakies in Jackson, Ms.
Kind of a toss up really - each has it good points.
Man it's great to be able to rap with other hippies my age. Love you guys.

I went for a five-mile hike in Saguaro National Park, then had Mexican food with my neighbor, a young man who is attending the university after serving in Iraq.

    No Cheetos for me!

taking the week off and doing the xmas shopping for the family. Just about nailed the list today. Granny-I took the 5 mile hike in the malls today. No park hiking for me-it snowed most of the weekend and warmed up to -12C today. Still, a fun day, folks are in a great mood. Peace

And remember how shocking the movie was at the time? It was originally given an "X" rating for subject matter, if I recall.

What a memorable character Dustin Hoffman played.
