    This is a nice example, in how Wikileaks has helped to prevent a law to come into effect, that at first sight was meant to only prevent further music, software and movie piracy, but on second sight can also be used with the same mechanisms and technology behind it to censor and filter access to information presented via the WWW:

    I guess I don't understand that article well enough - as I don't see that conclusion that Wikileaks "helped to prevent a law to come into effect".

    The article only quotes a lawmaker on Wikileaks, saying:

    All I am reading out of that, is that a lawmaker is acknowledging that Wikileaks did previously reveal that the law proposal was a respinse to US pressure.

    Where in the artice does it state or infer the law failed passage due to Wikileaks (even if only in part)?

    The part you quoted heavily infers that that was the REASON for it failing.
