I just finished reading Hollywood by Charles Bukowski. I'd never heard of him until a friend recommended him to me. It turns out for some reason, he was very successful in Europe, but not as popular in the States. I suppose he was too dark and cynical for his era. In any event, if you have not yet read this book I insist that you pick it up. I've never read anything quite like it before. This guy has you hysterically laughing one moment, and then almost crying the next. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good read.
