Yes, he was a great bassist. He was actually a good songwriter, too. He wrote some great songs for the Who, and he had a number of solo albums which contained his own original songs. Heh, he was also talented with a number of horns. Pretty talented guy, really.
you have some pretty good music knowledge there lucifer sam, it's nice to see the young blood still keeping the classics alive!
The Who live are where the fun begins.. I love the pure energy in all my Who shows I have! 'A Quick One While He's Away' from The Rolling Stone's Rock and Roll Circus film is a legendary version.. :H Great song.. Mini rock-opera-esq
Heh, thanks. Ahh, yes. I have that on my copy of The Kids are Alright DVD. Great stuff. Actually, "A Quick One, While He's Away" is probably my favorite Who song. I've always thought that their best live staple was "Young Man Blues," though.
Gosh golly, I luuurv that DVD. I love John's little machine gun rampage. Haa ... Roger's gonna beat 'im up as soon as he finds out that those were his gold records.
Oh yes, that's classic. But Hell, it's not like Roger's solo albums are anything to be treasured. Actually, I'm ashamed that I own a few of 'em!
I just got the Kids Are Alright DVD, so I'm looking forward to seeing that. Sometimes it seems like Roger is the odd man out....the others are closer and seem to interact better, with Moon the perpetual volcano.....
I think John tends to be the odd man out. If you listen to the director's voice-over, he says some things about John's ovbious quietness. heh....I love the Ox.
I don't know. Pete mentioned that John never wanted to do anything, but Roger always boasts about being the one who kept the band together. He claims that if it hadn't been for him, Pete and Keith would have simply slept all day and never accomplished anything. Who knows?
I want that bumper sticker. However, I was afraid that some people might think it stands for "World Health Organization."
