yes especially when I can barely talk in real life. my jaw is all but shut but my lips are open. I can open it about half an inch when I need to eat. I can't make any sounds that involve using the lips so it's very frustrating to try and talk.
I had this exact surgery in July 2009, execpt they didnt touch my top jaw, they only broke/moved the bottom jaw forward and rebound them with titanium plates. Its not as painfull as it sounds. most likley they will give you a long lasting anaethetic. The anaesthetic they gave me lasted 7 months as feeling starts to return from the jawlines towards the end of the chin. Even now the tip of my chin is still a little numb. Its totally worth it tho. I dont shred my palette when I sleep, its easier to eat certain foods, and I look more handsome as I have a bold jawline insted of a neardy overbite. Good luck to you.
a friend of mine from high school had a very similar surgery. seemed like it sucked pretty bad. but i'm sure it's worth it when you have issues that it can fix. i also knew a guy that got his jaw broken in a fight. he had to get it wired shut to heal. well 4 or 6 weeks later he goes to get it un-wired, they realize it has healed improperly, so they had to RE-break it, and he had to go how ever many weeks again with his jaw wired shut. he was an alcoholic to begin with (had to do with the fighting), but he said that captain and cokes started to taste REAL good.
Damn today is starting to suck a lot more. My head feels like a balloon. I've been icing my face all day. I need to brush my teeth and swish some stuff around but it's really hard and painful. Sigh.
It'll get easier man. No reward comes without pain and sacrifice. Be strong, homie. It'll won't last forever
if you insist... 12/19: Yesterday :2thumbsup: : Never posted a picture of me on here before. I haven't taken a picture of me today without my head bandage on but I bet it's even more swollen. Yesterday I went on chatroulette without my bandage on. Shit was funny.
You mean he's not really bald?! Popularity; That's a bummer your head is so swollen. Mine did the same thing when I had all my wisdom teeth removed. Three out of four were impacted so they had to cut open the gums, break the tooth into four pieces with a little hammer or something, then take out the pieces. I couldn't talk or eat for the first four days afterwards. I got T3's though so that part was fun. Did they give you anything for the pain?
for what its worth, i think your before pic is cute. it will be really interesting to see once the swelling goes down.
Lortab which is liquid hydrocodone. I haven't felt much of a high off it so far, just sleepiness. I think I need a larger dose. thanks
Lol where are you from that they only give you tylenol with codeine? Yeah I find that I don't start feeling any sort of high until I consume at least 20mg of hydrocodone. My brother is supposed to have this same surgery, but I don't think he's going to get it done since he hates pain, and hates pain meds even more haha.
dude your after pic made me say "holy fuck!" out loud. i guess you look a lot like that kid i knew that got the surgery. it took quite awhile for his swelling to go down, and he didn't look much different from his pre-surgery self hang in there EDIT i only got tylenol with codeine when i got all 4 wisdom teeth removed
