The 6's. What a great movie! In case you haven't heard of it, its amazing. It shows this family starting in 1960, they have 3 kids, one goes to vietnam, one gets pregnant and runs away to san fransisco where she lives with hippies on haight/ashbury, and the other son gets really involved in protesting and marching for civil rights and fighting against the war. Favorite parts: *When they show everybody dancing at haight/ashbury in 1967, the 'summer of love' *When he goes to the anti-war rally at the pentagon, and all the protestors push up against the soldiers who have guns, and things start getting violent, and he gets everybody to link arms and starts a chant 'we're not against the soldiers, we're against the war' and it becomes peaceful instead of everybody getting hurt, and he walks over to one of the soldiers and puts a flower in his gun and the soldier looks like he wants to cry, it was beautfiul (i cried) *When the 2 brothers go to woodstock, and the one that was in vietnam takes acid, and has a bad trip/flashbacks to the war and covers himself in mud (to camouflage himself), and he gets taken to this area where all the people are taken to that OD or are sick or hurt, and this girl comes over and starts washing the mud off of his face, and who is the girl? HIS SISTER KATIE!!! who the family hasnt heard from at all since she ran away. Then the brothers bring her home and she lives there with her kid and its great because they had been struggling with money and a place to live... WATCH THIS MOVIE
it's a good movie, and i had the great fortune to see it when it first aired back in '99 when I was only 10. It was one of the things that really turned me on to the 60's.
i loved that movie it made me cry when she came home with little micheal rainbow and her family accepted her back. well i cried a lot during that movie.
prob on Amazon. I like the brunette girl, the activist. especially when she says "pigs" to anyone in authority. and when she uses bad language, generally. always like to see attractive women use bad language, as a general rule. thought her boyfriend was a little too staid for her.
LOVE this movie!!! I was excited to see a tv movie about the 60s and love every bit of it and have it on DVD of course.. great movie that should be shown more often. =)
