I was talking to mah Uncle Peter on the phone and he was like saying that instead of the world ending (which I didn't believe it would) what if we lose all technology and power.. Then we go back to living with nature and stuff. We could grab our families and go up to the mountains and use all survival stuff we learned from Bear Grylls. We can hunt for our food and make new shelters. We'd have to learn how to make weapons and stuff.. How fuckin great would that be!?
if we lose all power and technology people will go into a furious uproar causing everyone to slaughter each other mercilessly and the end of the world.
I think that it might be fun. But my family is in Montana and that would suck to have to go up there and try to survive. Bad. Even Denver would suck, so many people around there would be lots of killing. The mountains here are 10k ft high, which would also be incredibly hard to survive during the winter. I would see a lot more people going to the south. It would be fun though, and hard. But fun things are usually hard, at least the long term fun things.
I hate to be a killjoy and all, but just how is ALL electricity going to disappear? The public grids could fail for any number of reasons, but the only reason they wouldn't be fixed, would be that the governments collapsed, as they would do everything thing they could to keep the money machine rolling along. Even assuming that the governments did collapse and the grid was never brought back online, there are literally millions of people who produce power on their own and more would start if put in that position. There is much more to worry about from each other if the shit hits the fan than any scenario of technology and power 'ending'. The later would just be a temporary thing... The former... well, a lot of people will die before it ends...

A massive solar flare the largest in recorded history could do the job It would fry electronic components and knockout power to billions Communications would fail, our satellites in orbit would cook, and our infrastructure would crumble Hotwater
A massive solar flare could cause global chaos in 2012, causing blackouts and wrecking satellite communications, a conference heard yesterday. Nasa has warned that a peak in the sun's magnetic energy cycle and the number of sun spots or flares around 2012 could generate huge radiation levels. The resulting solar storm could cause a geomagnetic storm on Earth, knocking out electricity grids around the world for hours, days, or even months, bringing much of normal life grinding to a halt. Defence Secretary Liam Fox, who delivered the keynote address at an international conference on the vulnerability of electricity grids around the world, warned that modern societies' dependence on technology leaves them vulnerable to such events. If the grid was to fail billions would die which I feal ain't really a bad thing. we could really do without alot of the people that couldn't survive anyway and it might solve a few of our problems. case in point 1. obesity 2. government 3. over population 4. greenhouse gases So bring it on
:2thumbsup: Plus, Its kinda been a dream of mine to live without technology.. like indians and hunt for food and make weapons and stuffz.... I just hope it comes true.. the only reason I'm using it now is because I'm surrounded by it...
Each of those situations is the same... the governments would re-establish the grid. As for frying electronics, it isn't a magical field that will just fry everything... anything that isn't hooked up to anything won't be effected. It would just be a matter of time... Except for people's reactions.
While I may use technology to the ease and betterment of my life I don’t worship it as you do and I have even less faith in mankind. When the lights go out there will be widespread panic and looting; and when the government issues their 6 month projection to get the grid back up all hell will break loose in the cities and then the burnings will begin Hotwater
