I think we should mind our own fucking business. Most US citizens seem to have this holier (sp?) than thou additude.

Human rights violations ? Look how this country was started. Plus we ( the world as a whole ) need to ween ourselves off oil now instead of waiting until it's all gone to try to find a suitable alternative. But then again, that would make too much sense.

Entering a war NEVER helps the economy. I mean look at our situation right now, billions of dollars being drained into all our troops in the middle east.

War did not get us out of the Great Depression, in fact part of the reason it was so "great" was because of the surplus of goods from WW1. (food, ammunition, clothing, all which was no longer sold to Europe because now they could focus on making those things themselves.)

FDR's New Deal Programs helped get the economy moving again, NOT the war. These were instituted by '39, while we didn't enter the war until 1941.

I think the original poster might have been being sarcastic... or at least, I hope he was being sarcastic.

I just read a few minutes ago how Saudi Arabia has purchased two nuclear bombs from Pakistan... They are ready to go at a moment's notice!

I think they told us we could not have their oil. Too expensive. People suggest we were there for oil but can't seem to say what oil we received. Strange that. So people, what oil did we get and what cost benefit did we get?

Obviously not militarily, but I sure hope they liberate themselves though.

(I know the question was a sarcastic one, just saying)

No, Iran and every Muslim nation will go to war with us. We don't need oil that bad to have a war with like 15 nations at one time. Meanwhile they cut off the oil supply we get from those nations and we won't have any jet fuel, diesel, gasoline to operate our war machines. nuclear subs aside.

I voted for "Fuck that Noise" We the People need to stop thinking it's our fucking job to save the rest of the world from themselves and start getting a closer eyeball on the fucking Fed's right here at home yo! If the Saudi civillian population wants to get un-oppressed, then fine, let's sell them weapons and make the profit, but we dont need to waste one drop of American blood for them to accomplish that... It's shit like playing Cowboy to the Indians of the world that have them strapping bombs to themselves and screamin Jihad!! if you cant see the issue with that, try poking a Wasps nest with a stick for an hour and see where that get's you.

From everything i have read 40% of the US's oil supply is domestic, we even sell some of this oil.

The rest comes from various nations, i haven't found any information on the exact percentage we are getting from the middle east.

    *EDIT for the above post*

The general population has nothing to do with this war. "We the people" have no say on wether or not we go to war. If the government, mainly people "We the people" elected wants a war, well, we can take our ideas and shove 'em up our ass at that point, unless, are you implying we overthrow the government, I am with you. And just selling weapons all willy nilly is a horrible idea. I mean, didn't we do that once, to help defeat the soviet union, and, didn't it come back to bite us in the ass? Or is it still biting us in the ass?

Well selling weapons all :willy_nilly: sure beats some 18 year old kid going off to die in hopes that us older folks will be able to afford the gas to drive the 20-50 miles to work each day etc. My point being that if as a nation we feel it truly nessisary to intervene in another nations affairs at some level (Not that I think we should but as you stated, it's not really our decision ultimately), far better to sell them the tools they need to bring about whatever change we think they should undergo than to loose the lives of our loved ones in such a fashion as direct conflict, but frankly I'd rather see us keep our mitt's off altogether.

And dont blame me for electing these assholes, I'm not dumb enough to give my sign of consent to this joke of a system by voting into it. Local elections sure, but the Federal level? C'mon, it's like asking would you rather have an infestation of Helminths or Protozoa in your intestines? RepubliCants and DemoCraps can both fuck off and die.
But no need for a revolution as I see it, their house of cards will be crashing in on them thanks to shoddy craftsmanship any time now., you just wait and see. All they seem to be doing is tossing quick fixes, ad bandaids on the shotgun blast holes they've made Oh and waiving entitlement carrots to both the rich and the poor alike, "See, we have your money, now jump through our hoops and we'll let you even have some of it for yourselves!!" .:cheers2:

hmm. Yes maybe your right, atleast this way there is a better chance of someones/a whole bunch of fucks, agenda('s) being taken out of the equation, but, unfortunately, if someone with enough power and corrupt motives wants something, they will do whatever they can to get it.

Oh, i don't blame you, but surely you didn't vote for the rogue maverick, i know i didn't.

None of this post requires any answer from you really, so please don't feel obligated, its 3 am and i have been drinking, it is new years day after all ;)

America has toppled far less dictatorships than they have installed. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Currently oil is purchased with U.S. dollars. That may soon change and require the purchase to be made using Yuan, Euros, or any currencies OTHER than the U.S. dollar.

Ive lived in Saudi..... just like the Iraqis they are not ready for liberation.

These people are about as brainwashed as people in N Korea and could not function outside of their country because everything they have ever been told is a lie.

For example school children are taught that jews evolved from a cross breed of pig and monkey.... and they believe it into adulthood. Also slavery is still practiced there.

It would take years of reeducation to bring them up to the modern age.
