Hey Beatles fans, I was just checking out my rubber soul record and realised my copy only has 12 songs on it and all the sites I've checked out has it listed as having 14, why is mine two short? anybody know?
Just checked my CD. The listing is as follows: 1. Drive My Car 2. Norwegian Wood 3. You Won't See Me 4. Nowhere Man 5. Think For Yourself 6. The Word 7. Michelle 8. What Goes On 9. Girl 10. I'm Looking Through You 11. In My Life 12. Wait 13. If I Needed Someone 14. Run For Your Life Which songs are you missing? Are you reading from an old Album or CD?
I'm talking about a record I have of them...no hidden tracks.... my song list is as follows: Side One I've Just seen a face Norwegian Wood You won't see me Think for yourself THe word Michelle Side Two It's only love Girl I'm looking through you In my life Wait Run for your life So I am missing Drive my car, nowhere man, what goes on, and If I needed somone and mine has i've just seen a face and its only love...... strange
It was prolly made by a crappy recording compnay that isn't Capital records. I have a vinyl of Revolver taht's missing Dr.Robert. What company was it produced/made by?
you probably have the US version the UK version is much different..... and is the standard of all cds that were made. the beatles fought against the US market and how they "butchered" their albums. their albums were intended to have whatever they recorded in the UK, but US markets thought they could take some songs off and add a single or two so that they could sell more records. sgt peppers was the first beatles album that was not butchered in any way.
yup, looking at the tracklisting, thats what it is. Its the US version..... Ive just seen a face and Its only love were released as singles in the UK and US markets, and they wanted to sell more albums, so they added those, and got rid of other songs.
and to make a point, it wasnt just the beatles that had butchered albums for the US market, the rolling stones, the who and lots of other british bands had to suffer the same thing.... and it wasnt until the beatles released sgt peppers, that US markets started to realize that it is dumb to change the format of albums...... up until that point, they were mainly a collection of songs, or thats what the US market thought.. but the beatles and the stones were intent on making albums, not a collection of singles.
Exactly. In fact Capitol last week release the "American" version of the Albums in a CD box set several days ago. Besides album order, the only other difference is the American verisons contain so called "Stereo" effects. From what I hear, its not worth the money buying the set.
thats exactly what it is!!! ahh those slimy american bastards......haha ooops what am I saying, thats me
I accually prefer the British verson found in CDs than the American Album version. Especially the dorky "James Bond" style intro tagged on the beginning of the song "Help" from the Album "Help".
I prefer the american version of the HELP soundtrack, with the incidental music and sitar versions of Hard Days Nite etc. I suppose it depends on what songs one is after, they have all been diced pretty seriously by now.
