Probably something you should not have done, but bottom line is it happened and the past is past, your going to have to deal with the fact you did something that could upset people involved, but also accept that it was not entirely your fault, yes you brought her home and that could have been the wrong course of action, but she also made the choice to come home, your equally in the same position. Dude is a wimp though if he watched you leave with his girl saying you would "take care of her". I would have punch you out that second. Not that his failure to action should make it any more acceptable though.
