I've been using knottyboy mentholly shampoo bar stuff once a week for the last 3 months, noticing some flakes so I'm gonna start washing more regularly (now the dreads have settled in.)

I've decided to give Dr B a try (tea tree oil liquid one). I've read a lot about diluting it but I've not seen any indication regarding ratios.

Can anyone suggest a good DB to Water ratio for washing dreads?

everyone seems to be a little different, but the most common number I hear is 12-1. I don't pre-dilute at all. While in the shower, i just cup my hand and put a little bit in and then hold my hands under the water for a couple seconds, and then wash my hair with it. But, like I said, everyones hair is a little different so it will take a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for you.

My favorite way to use Dr. Bronner's liquid soap is to get a loofah and apply a few drops. Then get the loofah really lathery and apply to scalp and each individual lock(if you wish). Works a lot better than diluting it, in my opinion.

    P.S.

If you don't like the liquid version try the bar soap!

Don't over do it is my only advice! I am scared to reuse to (properly) because I used to get flakeys from it.
