You for or against SB 1070 (Arizona Imm. Law)?

Just curious. I am for it. As well I live in arizona. As I understand it, 70% of america backs SB 1070, but Obama is against it?????? Hmmmm, someone wanting latino votes perhaps??? HAHA!!! Such B.S. Just curious to your opinions.

Until I have actually read the bill and had time to consider what it really means then I'm not exactly qualified to render a judgment one way or another. Otherwise I'd just be reacting to the spin being put on it and echoing a political agenda I may not otherwise be on board with.

 

From what little i know of the bill I disagree with it 100%...they say it will not profile anyone but how many blonde hair blue eyed light skinned people are they going to check for citzenship status? not many or none,except if they are riding with a person with darker skin.I think this Is about giving the police more authority to bend our rights as americans or as people in general so they can make it easier to soon require people to carry ID and all kinds of "paperwork" with them at all times as was the case in Nazi Germany..as well as in communist USSR.The cops and policticans want to have more control over the masses and monitor out movements , in case we the people are not living accordding to there agenda of =go to work,buy items you do not need,pay taxes on thos eitems and your income,and work some more.Do not use marijuana or LSD,etc. because "we" the goverment cannot tax those itmes so we must keep them illegal,and because someone not using our taxable cigarettes and drinkin gour taxed alcohol or taking our big corporate political donors phamaceuticals to make them money and the governmenet tax money for them,then we will not have the people money to diver into out secret little crooked schems to make the government leaders(most of them anyway) rich or more honestly richer! I am a white reddish brown haired blue eyed US citizen and I am sickened by the Ariz. plan to turn into a police state..The old saying from the WW2 era was " first they came for the jew,and I said nothing,,then they came for the intellectuals and I said nothing , then they came for others and others and I never said anything, Now they have come to me and ther eis no one left to sat anything about me or speak for me....listen and think about that,if we say nothing about ARizonas' current plans to harrass people of color or of a different ethnic background and then that spreads to other states then eventually we are all in a police state,having to produce papers to the gestapo-like police while they search through our pockets and vehicles and peronal belongings and arest us for a hit of MDMA or LSD for an example...I am not condoning the use of any drugs or any thing by anyone but I believe that an adult has the right to consume any chemical they see fit in the privacy of there home or on private property with the permission to be there given by the owners so long as the use of the chemicals does not hurt or lead to damge to others life propety or way of living...WE are all immigrants unless you are native american!!!! We are a nation buitl by immigrants many of which had to choice to come here,but were forced and sold as slaves,etc...So a mexican person has as much right especially in ARIZONA which was part of Mexico as was Texas,NEW Mexico,And parts of California and Colorado,and other areas until our country either fought a war to take the land or bought the land from the Mexican government ,probably secretly under threat or war if they did not sell the land to the US...

 

Arizona has been a fucking police state long before this shit.

I feel mixed about it but definitely more against it than for it.

 

No one picks my lettuce I have a garden where I grow my own vegetables,and no one but me or my woman will touch our baby....lol but I understand what you are saying man.
I see many people hiring poor people from Mexico and other nations south of there to mow their big lawns,take care of their kids while they go drink at the country club or wherever,where mexicans cook the food and clean that place...

 

ummmm your mexican you get pulled over. you get asked for identification and then if you show it okay good bye and you move on. Why is that so bad? unless your a mexican pothead and you always hotbox your car why do you care if the police ask you for identification. Unless your guilty of doing something illegal big deal. You have to spend 60 seconds less of your time in your whole life to show identification and you cry about it?

There is a huge gang and drug problem in arizona. This law can help to destory the mexican gangs. once you prove your identification the police can put it into their database and then when they run you plates and they will know your legal. it only takes 1 time to prove your a citizen then you won't get pulled over anymore.

you getting profiled? yeah if your black or white why are they gonna think your not a citizen? There is very few white/black illegal immigrants. The majority of illegal immigrants are Mexican. So yes they are going to target Mexicans. I live in southern california and trust me this gang problems is just gonna keep growing. police need something to stop it.

this law is the best thing ever to stop it. and like I said big deal if you get pulled over because it's only 1 60 second pull over for that reason the rest of your life. and if your illegal? well then to bad your illegal man. and if your a mexican pot smoker who hot boxes your car well then to bad you can't do that anyway but guess what? it's illegal cry more.

and to you people who say mexicans do the lawn mowing farming and all that? that's a racist comment. I am white and I do not support racist comments like that. My neighbors are mexican. Have you ever read the U.S. Constitution? Plus the Supreme court has already ruled on this very thing in the case of The California Walkman.

Although being a light skinned U.S. citizen I have always been required to show identification each time I reentered the U.S. and living abroad I am quite often asked to show identification AND documentation of proof that I am legally within the boundaries of the area where I have been stopped. In addition I am required to report periodically where I am residing, subject to fines, jail, and possible deportation for failure to do so. That's the law here so I simply obey. I have no problems with racial profiling when applied to myself, and on occasions when a non-Asian is apprehended for trying to skirt the laws, I applaud the law enforcement for their efforts. Laws are created for a purpose, and should either be enforced or rescinded.
If the Federal government was enforcing the immigration laws there would be no need for SB 1070. Legal immigrants are always welcome, and sorry, but limits are a necessity.

on the one hand, I feel that these immigrants are choosing to break the law. they're using our services tax free. they're overpopulating and over-crowding.
But I can see why they want to come here, and its nearly impossible to get here legally.
And I believe we are all part of one race, human. we are all one.

 

I can see where you're coming from and at one point I shared your belief. But these people want to be here to better their lives, and we make it nearly impossible for them to come here legally. Plus the law is unconstitutional. Even if I have nothing to hide, I shouldn't have to show my papers.

 

IF an American gets pulled over for an offense, the first thing asked for is you license and registration, and sometimes, proof of insurance. Why should anyone be different?
