animals have a particular sensitivity to presences, mostly because they don't have the constant noise of an internal monologue. if something is trying to contact you, most animals would know. (I mentioned cats in particular because I got an impression of a cat when I tried to find out for myself... trying something new, a reading through the interwebs. btw, if you actually have a cat, I win!) @purp: I think a sheep would be better for that... at least the Romans, Greeks, and Etruscans seemed to think so.
pauj84, I can sometimes contact spirits. I'll see if I can tune into yours sometime. It might be a few days before I have anything to report.
ya the dumber the animal the more they can sense spirits, hence why sheep are the most tuned in, cause their about the same level as a carrot, well maybe a carrot is smarter (not monsanto ones tho!_
i dont own a cat but my best friend does and we believe that her brother is still around he died 6 months ago and was only 19
I would only give him as much hope as I think is warranted. Frankly I haven't had much inclination to actually try to contact the supposed spirit in question. I think the op's experience is for the op to fathom on his own as he sees fit. Whatever spirit may or may not be there, the experience seems to be benign and even comforting, and under the circumstances this seems like a good thing. It's not necessarily a good thing either to obsess over it or to reject it. We are beings of emotion far more than we are beings of intellect. Most of our so-called analyses are merely rationalizations of our personal biases. The experience of the spiritual is often a needed part of a healing process. It doesn't need to make sense, and it doesn't need to fit anybody's intellectual worldview - it simply needs to serve a healing purpose.
