Do you like (for decorating, art, just to look at, etc.) colors that don't look good on you to wear? I started to realize that I don't! There is an almost perfect match between colors that look bad on me and colors I dislike. The main colors that don't look good on me are orange, khaki, gray, sage green, mustard yellow....and I don't like any of those colors for clothes, decor, anything. And on the flip side, all of the colors that do look good on me to wear (mainly jewel tones), I love for everything. Kind of funny! The only color I like that I can't wear is a sunny yellow. So I was wondering if we as humans are just conditioned to like looking at colors that flatter us?
Quite a few colours I like look horrid on me. Pink, which I don't like, looks great on me. Light blues/purples match me better than dark blues but I prefer dark. Dark reds/oranges suit me better than bright reds - That I'm happy about. Greens and yellows, need to be a real specific shade to work.
I just realized that I do not generally like colors that do not look good on me. I like black, grey, red, royal blue, all which happen to look good on me. I do not like (and cannot wear) pastels of any kind, pink and most especially YELLOW! (yuck!!). The only possible exception may be Tennessee orange.
I don't think there are many colors that really don't look good on me...Haha. But I detest pink, so I don't wear it often. My favorite color is purple, though, and I actually only own one purple thing out of all my clothes.
In my case it's kinda the opposite way around: I don't like red which looks quite good on my. It's pretty much the same thing with the other colors (I really do like black but it just doesn't look good on me).
I'm the opposite - I have a very small range of colors that I feel comfortable wearing, it's mostly limited to black, brown, dark grey, dark purple, dark green, and when I'm feeling really daring I'll wear a very dark or subdued jewel tone - all of which I'm indifferent about otherwise. I have to wear a red shirt to work and I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb even though 100 other people are wearing the same. For decorating and the such I prefer wild, vibrant colors like aquamarine, orange, fuchsia, lime green, checkerboard, multicolor stripes, colored animal prints and bold patterns. Those colors all match my personality better, I just don't like to express it through clothing for some reason, though I'm not opposed to wild scarves and bags...
