    for me,
i havent gained any subtle way out of being under 18 so far yet
    but
Im sorta self-sufficient on more then most occasions.
I go dirty 30s to lessin my water use. I also collect rain water and then boil it i use a magnifying glass and tinder to start it. i recycle all my clothing patching and heming if and when needed
I grow leeks ,tomatos, hemp, pineapple sage, green bell peppers and morning glories, all of which i use for food, I catch the local fish (heat-out) the parisites and then eat that ,sometimes i dehydrate it
Theres a farmers daughter like 4 miles for my home. I can play my guitar there and get a little money, I invest that money in some of the local seasonals and annuals for more seeds. for growing space I have a woods near my town home unit where I grow my food and herbs
I collect rain water here and there from the gutter out my window.
Im trying to find a way to lessin my eco print and become more self sufficient
i dont have a job. but i busk and photospange
Im 17 ,Im in the process of becoming a hermit, maybe not I want I find national land and live off it ,i dont use the AC ever when im alone in the house
my over all net of commercal use is:

I use the internet to network i go to the library for music CDs
    I have my magnifying glass
I got containers in which i collect water
I get strings and guitar equipment when i need it
    I do use electrical lighting
I do use soap (although theres a way to make it)
I use a battery powered radio for CDs and such

    rate me ,if you can
in the way i mean in in the process of being a hermit i mean im going to live this way and write a book about it and how i manage it and then just continue to live that way

    Insults,what have yous and comments
thats what im looking for here

In my honest opinion sustainability is best acheived through a community... think globally act locally... yes you can live this way and have a moderate impact or you can instill and share these ideals into other people and network to find even better ways... "spread the disease of living green- its the best disease there is! " and Im not keen on batteries... how do you dispose of them? I mean its great your using battery power but just saying..

otherwise your off to a good start :)
