Oh before i get into it how do i respond to threads in a group i joined i can't find the reply button ?? As for being a hippie one must do more good than getting stoned or your not realy a hippie your just a stoner. The choice is yours. I started a recycling center in redway Calif in 1975 at the new container site i was watching when they closed the garbeville burning dump. It was eventually taken over by others who made it very productive. I had caught a staph infection from dirty diapers but the echinecea cured that and well thats another story. I also have always recycled everything i could do. I also planted many many fruit trees and gardens on other peoples lands and cleaned forest and in the 90's i built 6 green 2400 sq ft homes back east which use 1/10th what other homes did. I utilized the earths natural heat by making basements 13 feet underground in the back and 7 ft in te front because underground the earth never freezes at certain depths in any location. I have also planted many evergreen trees around the USA and the properties weren't mine and i didn't get paid but did it to help areas that needed help. Its better to do good than to spend too much time being a non productive activist. I have done both but knew doing was better than just rambling my views and not doing good things. I am presently restoring an old house built in 1820's and only buy old things to put in it. I try not to buy anything imported from another country and that means food too. So thats just some of what i have been doing and so don't get the idea being a stoner is being a hippie. One day i'll be in total lurk mode above watching here on earth below and smiling as i see those redwod trees in upstate washington get taller and taller :sunny:
Alot of i i 's and me, if only it was just us and we, good on you for all ur deeds, for i have done nothing, im not evan a stoner ; (, tho im sure we both know whats going on. For ever smileing on you jo
Scoll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find the "post reply" button. Man you are a busy one. huh? you must be a carpenter, with all that building. Welcome.
Yes i am a carpenter and plumber and waterwitch and deveopler of springs and collecting blue clay that has been washed down after logging and building ponds with it and capturing the sweat of the earth and using gravity flow water and siphoning to pull water out of a sweat hole to a tank to water maybe one fruit tree with a drip line so yea i am a Pisces and i do water and well i may say I a lot but i have been the little red hen all my life and begged others to get involved but they wanted to party and so well it had to get done so i did it. i i i i me me me me mine but i'll share it with ya hey we only have one life in this shell so giterdone or sit above watching those who wish they had only done more while they were here on earth. nahhh i would rather do it now and know i did all i could during my brief stay in this body / shell One day i will be that lil voiceinyourhead saying do it now don't hesitate so remember me when i pass and know that what i say was said to me by those in the next world
Well ya sound allright to me. Truth be told when we introduce ourselves to others our conversation is liberally littered with I statement's. I think Groucho Marx once said "Enough about me. What about you? What do you think of me?" Stay Brown, Rev J
Well this thread is about old hippies and well i thought i would offer the youth some of what it means to be an old hippie verses and old stoner
Hey how do i join groups? I can't find a join button.. the again maybe since i am not a stoner but a hippie they don't want me in their groups?
I think you need a certain number of posts, at least 20, until you are no longer listed as a "guest."
i and me are not the expressions of a true hippie. a true hippie is about causes, lifestyle, peace, gentleness, introspection. so those self-centered people you know couldn't be hippies, because what we bring from that era has to do with doing and helping. those people you are referring to are either young people who didn't live back in the day or lived back then but ran with a non-hippie crowd. so please, save your judgements for something about which you know. peace, paisley skye.
Listen, ForgetThisEmail, don't take into consideration what everyone is saying about the "I, me my" stuff. You created this thread to talk about the good YOU did and if they can't handle that, then too bad for them! Your post is very inspiring. I think if you shared your story to the youth of society, you would find that it would motivate a lot of people. I'm glad you did so much good in your area and I just wish more people were like you, including myself. Keep on keepin' on, brother
Using I and Me statements while talking about what you've done doesn't make you any less of a hippie. People in general use alot of I statements when introducing themselves. It is more irritating and redundant to refer to yourself in the third person. I'm just going to revise this original post: Boy that sounds like a hippie doesn't it. Doing things for others and using the things you've done as an example doesn't make you any less of a Hippie. It doesn't really matter who did these things as long as they get done. Just doing it to get credit for doing it makes you self centered. The fact that he used these things as examples of what he has gotten done to teach others is a very Hippie thing to do. I think that alot of people on here are overreacting to the way ForgetThisEmail has presented the Ideas that he want's to share. That kind of shallow nitpicking of details has it's place in the Military Industrial complex our society has turned into not the place that we want it to be. Give the dude a break. Stay Brown, Rev J
