Devastating...floods on the east coast http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8194686/terrifying-night-for-qld-flood-victims
Floods in Queensland and expected floods in Victoria. Floods in Northern Western Australia. Fires everywhere. The world is turning to shit!
I dont like to compare catastrophes ...but yes, its still on a biblical scale. and we say Katrina the same as you do....but with a sharp A in stead of a long drawling one.
This looks like the thunderstorm floods we get in the Alpes in summer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYUpkPTcqPY"]YouTube - Toowoomba Flood 2011.01.10 reminds me of this in southern France https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9o3tvuN5pQ"]YouTube - Vaison-La-Romaine : 22 septembre 1992
It really does put this into perspective though. We are approaching the first anniversary of the Haitian earthquake in which over 100000 people died. In Katrina 1800 people died. One death is tragic and there have been some horrific stories coming out of Queensland but we are in a situation where we will be able to cope with this. Perhaps that is something to be proud of.
