There's nothing like it. I just got back from the gym and was hungry as hell. The last thing I ate was shredded wheat this morning around 9:00. So I raided the fridge and here's what I threw together; Your standard tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread, including one large clove of garlic, some red pepper flakes, dill, and a generous amount of hot sauce. I looked down at the sandwich and decided that it was too plain. After nearly accepting defeat, banishing myself to the same old sandwich I eat day after day, something stuck out in the corner of my eye. What's that at the back of the fridge with the gold lid, there, behind the orange juice? It's sauerkraut! How deliciously strange...throw a generous amount of sauerkraut on top of the tuna, placing a slice of swiss cheese between them...so good. I'm also eating hommade tabbouleh. :2thumbsup: Tell me about your strange or favorite sandwiches. I want to read about them.
I have ham and swiss cheese and fresh bread from the grocery store's bakery, so I'm sooooo happy. Alas, I spend $2 on lunch at work, so the ham and swiss will have to wait until later.
I love wheat bread, but I can't eat it. It gives me fucking terrible headaches. I don't know why, either, I can eat shredded wheat and Wheaties and wheat crackers, just can't eat wheat bread.
I like peanut butter and mayonnaise. With tuna,I like onion, little pieces of celery and small pieces of tomato. Not so odd,I guess--but good.
I dont really like sandwiches but I like to grab a piece of bread and eat it plain just like that...it doesnt matter white or wheat I like them all I used to never eat the end pieces but now I think its the best part.
A slice of Swiss cheese, American processed cheese, hard salami, fresh lettuce, sliced tomato, Jewish rye bread (seeded) with mayonnaise :2thumbsup: Hotwater
what i do is i cook me some huge pancakes, smother one side of each with peanut butter, jelly, sausage, and enjoy. or i'll cook pancakes and smother with cream cheese and blue berries and whipped cream and eat like a sandwhich
my sandwich creations are relatively normal these days, but when i was a small child i used to eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches, dipped in milk. hurray, i'm not the only one. when i was a senior in high school i took "food power" (home ec, but only the cooking part of it) the period after lunch. the school never served enough for lunch, so i would sneak into class before the teacher got there and eat a half loaf of bread before class most days.
Fucking eh! I'm not nuts about salami though. I try to stick to tuna, turkey, chicken, and about once every 3 months I buy 200 grams of montreal smoked meat. I only buy coldcuts once every two months. I do eat tuna almost every day though.
Yea I know. Apparently the no name stuff is best. It also doesn't contain some of the additives of other name brands, just tuna, salt and water. Oh yea, and the odd dolphin chunk.....
Peanut Butter with thin sliced english cucumbers. It sounds a little strange but if you put them together they are interesting.
can't think of anything too out of the ordinary ATM but the one sammich that never fails to hit the spot for me: huge whole wheat pita filled to bursting with roasted red pepper hummus, perfectly fried little falafel patties, sliced carrots, tomatoes, avocado, romaine lettuce, and if you have any room to stuff in a few garlicky french fries right here would be the spot I'm fuckin hungry and stranded inside from the snow... with no food that sounds even a fraction as appetizing
