I think that commenter had it right.

We just need to ban ferrets. That will solve everything.

Think of the children. If you love your child, you will vote to ban ferrets.

If you're serious... If you saw a ferret eating your baby, I'd fucking hope you would throw it as hard as you could.... EVEN if it where your fault it where eating the baby in the first place.

Either way, the ferret had to die, gotta check for rabies (which would explain such a behavior) and check its stomach to see that the parents didn't take a cleaver to their kids fingers, and then cry ferret... They do seem to be the type who would do that.

I don't even leave my cat alone in the same room as my three year old niece, I'd wonder about that child's sleeping arragements. Who has a free range ferret?

    Those irresponsible SOB’s [IMG]

In the recent past, animal control officers responded to complaints about the family's dogs, including a Rottweiler, Ambrose said.

"They have had other animal issues with dogs for licensing and things like that," Ambrose said, adding that a dog license costs $10 or so in Grain Valley. "There was a concern back in the summer about barking dogs and...the way they were keeping the animals."

So, in other words they're people who likely shouldn't have animals, let alone a child...

I had one when I was 8 or 9. Or maybe it was my parents. I don't remember which, but I do remember it was a new pet. All I remember was waking up in bed looking eye to eye with it. I went to pet it and it bit me on the nose. I ran to my bathroom and was dripping blood on the floor as I looked in the mirror to see the bite.

I saw it lapping up the blood on the floor below me and I think I screamed or yelled. My dad came in and that's all I remember. He probably did the same thing and I blocked it out of my memory. I had never been bitten before. And I haven't been bitten since. I love animals.

And I know it wasn't starving, or mistreated because my mom loves animals more than anyone on earth and never would have allowed it.

I don't blame the ferret because I don't know why it did it. But I think they belong in the wild. It's like having a pet tiger as far as I'm concerned. :(

    Exactly.

Back when I was little you could find almost anything at the pet shop. Alligators, monkeys, piranhas..

This is part of being a responsible pet owner...

When it comes to ferrets, that means understanding that they will bite if handled improperly or startled.

The fact that you woke up to it eye to eye, means that you, nor your parents, had any business having one.

It is not a reflection on ferrets in anyway.

That may have been the case.

But I say now that ferrets are not house cats, and should not be kept as pets.

Well then its a good thing they don't sell dangerous animals in this day and age

    (AP) Boston January 7, 2011

Boston subway passengers may have had visions of B-movie horrors on January 6th, when an escaped snake stopped a Red Line train for at least half an hour.

How would you feel, if you discovered a fellow train passenger had lost a snake onboard?

Loose snake makes mayhem in Massachusetts.

Passengers were evacuated to the platform, as MBTA subway staffers investigated for several minutes. Boston subway dispatchers actually held up the Red Line train for a period of time to search the train.

When I was young my brother and I were babysat by a girl who had a ferret. She used to feed it hotdogs and it used to bite her a lot. It was very misbehaved. She shouldn't have had it.

Say it all you want... 1000's upon 1000's of responsible ferret owners disagree...

I guess they haven't been bit.

I was taught at a very early age how to handle pets, so I don't believe I was mishandling it. It startled me, but I didn't freak out. I was happy to see it on my chest, as a matter of fact. And it bit me anyway!

So a 'no' vote from me, thanx.

I always kind of wanted a ferret, but I hear the little shits steal shit and hide it and you'll never find it. I like my shiny things, too, ferret!

Perhaps if you had been taught that pets shouldn't be left alone in bedrooms with children, things would have been different.

hell yeah... if it grabs their attention, they think they own it and attempt to hide it from everyone... usually so well, that they only time they find it again is when they try to hide the next thing there... lol
