Not all cops are like this, but yeah, it's a shame. Killing a dog isn't nearly as bad as killing a human, it's stupid to say people should be KILLED for killing an animal. I think they should be suspended.

They shot a dog 4 times that was in someone's backyard that wasn't a threat, exclaimed NICEEEEE!, and then gave each other high fives. They deserve to be fired, like anyone else with such a serious lack of judgment whilst doing their "jobs".

    what video did you watch?

the one I saw showed a fucking huge dog on the loose...it had been loose for days and people in the neighborhood were afraid

the police tried to contact neighbors and animal control to find an owner....they tazed it at least three times before shooting it

I think you guys would have different opinions if you had a dog like that walking around your neighborhood and you had kids

I definitely agree, one killing does not justify another. However, and I know I sound like hippie loon when I say this, I don't agree that it "isn't nearly as bad". Life is so miraculous that killing is always a big fucking shame. One killing is not worse than the other, they are both terrible. Idk, at times it's dispiriting to know how few people agree with me on this point. I do have a loyalty to my race that is undeniable, but I tend to value all life equally. Except mosquitoes, fuck mosquitoes. hahahah ima hypocrite at times i guess. "Killing a dog isn't quite as bad as killing a human, but it's pretty damn close." - I like that better.

Can't watch the videos, this is the first time I've found one that doesn't work on this linux distro, stock...

Well, we all know cops like shooting dogs for fun, I mean this is not ideal, but better than shooting kenneled corgis...

the videos were a pain in the ass to watch...the 545 one was the one that showed the most but is 30 minutes long and had to be accessed from the city link and downloaded to a media player to watch

Yeah I didn't mean to come across like I don't value life other than humans, it's just there is absolutely no way an animal's life comes close to ours. The human experience is much more complex and deep than the "dog experience" or whatever animal you choose. There's a cutoff for me, if they don't have basic emotions and can't feel pain (insects and such), I don't really value their life all that much.

The way i see it is, don't kill it unless your gonna eat it, or it's gonna eat you.

I skipped half the posts BTW sry.

Atleast they didn't just decide to shoot the dog very first thing.

It sounds like they tazed it, and the dog was pissed after that, and they couldn't hoop it.

I'm sorry that the dog got shot, and I don't understand why like 5 cops couldn't take one dog.

The first thing i would try to do is pet it and calm it down, to see if it bites, if it doesn't dealing with it should be easy, if it does bite, then i would try hooping, or tazing, and if it ran off and all of my other attempts didn't work then i would maybe shoot it, cause i wouldnt want it running into a road and causing a wreck, or biting somebody.

Cause to be honest, I would be afraid somebody else would get bit or worse, a kid, and I've seen a kid get bit in the face by a small dog, and the dog wasn't trying to hurt her, but her lip was cut up, and i picked her up and held the towel on her lip on the way to the hospital, with her screaming at the top of her lungs in the car, and getting blood all over my hands and everything i touched, all over the hospital phone and my ear trying to make a phone call, seeing that kid hurt made my stomach knot. I wouldn't want that to happen to any kid.

I miss the good old days when cops didn't have their rule book shoved up their ass all the time, and when the cops try to do something good and bend a rule to help a community, everybody wants to fire him cause he didn't follow the rules, and he was cruel.

With that said, the cop didn't have to say NICE!, that was the fuck up, and he could have shown a little regret, like saying "Man I don't wanna have to shoot this dog, but it looks like we got to."

So please cut them a little slack, they tried to do their job, mistakes make better future decisions, but because of one little mistake people want them fired which will ruin the rest of their lives, cause of an economy like this.

Just my 2 cents, let the flames roll in.
