http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-12212240 Britain what the hell? Minimum alcohol costs? I can get a 1.75 liter of vodka here for $13-14. I foresee the downfall of the coalition.
A 26-er is Canuck-speak for what you Yanks call a "fifth." It's a bottle that holds about 26 ounces of booze.
Holy shit, $23 for a fifth of vodka. The cheapest booze at least in vodka in this state is Dubra, Popov, Majorska, Buckoff and McCormik, all about $8 a bottle, $14 for a handle.(granted those all taste like absolute shit) I heard liquor is dirt cheap in California(and you can buy it in places like WalGreens and CVS), but it's like $15 for a handle of Svedka, which is normally at least $20 here.
Might as well give them a gun and let them shoot themselves in the foot. Oooooh 38p minimum price for a can of lager, how will we manage. What a bunch of total retards. BTW they tried to push this through in the Scottish parliament last year and it failed. I forsee this failing too, another waste of time. Why don't they legalise cannabis, that would stop people drinking as much! We all know this, but this lot with their heads up their arses as usual.. Is this what we elect and pay these people to do?
Booze is heavily taxed here, along with tobacco and lots of other stuff. It's how we can afford our "free" health care for all.
Same here. In a sense there is already a minimum price. They say that people should not be allowed to sell alcohol for less than the tax and VAT on it, like when is that ever going to happen? Shop owners going to give it away for free, are they? They gonna pay people to take the booze?
86 American cents at for a bottle of whiskey right next to my house. Banning happy hours ridiculous state meddling. Why don't they focus on infrastructure development and job creation.
What size of bottle? And I bet it's not real whisky. EDIT!!!!! 4 fat ladies! I just officially reached my 8,888th post!
It's 700 ML. And Mekong is technically a rum though the label says mekong whiskey. It's made from sugarcane and rice, and is 35% ABV.
Yea really. I knew you all were bad but, holy shit. I can't imagine what kind of state I'd in by now if vodka here was $8-$15 a bottle. When I drank liquor lower end whisky, rum, and vodka was around $20 for a 26er (or a fifth -26 ounces). Now all the same brands are around $25. Oh yea, and the cheapest tall can of beer here is $1.75 and it's strong and really shitty.
Well, all one would really have to do is give alcohol a foreign name and start talking about how coloured people love it. Then everyone would be against it and it would become illegal. Maybe than we can possibly use a plant that cures and aids numerous medical maladies, is an excellent source of food and protein, as well as is able to be turned into material out of which people can build houses, cars, rope, clothes, paper, fuel, and hundeds of other things.
The cheapest beer/size here are 40 ounces(I mean you can get single cans, in a few states they only have 32oz, ect.) But a 40oz of malt liquor is essentially 6 beers packed into the space of 3 beers, all for only $2.25. Some like Private Stock and St. Ides are actually pretty decent too. Also, four words, drive thru liquor store. Yes they exist in some states.
If I could drive through liquor store and get a 40 ounce of beer for 2.25, or a 26/fifth of vodka for 15 dollars. I would already be an alcoholic.
lol thats so funny you know this awful vodka i had no money one night so i scrapped up 3 dollars from my friends for a hip of this.. the taste is truly offensive
