Is my hair long enough :O !

heyy i was wondering if my hair was long enough to start my dreads !

 

I can see why you would want to get rid of the "Bieber" style.

 

yeah my hair isnt usually this long and unfortunately this is what its like when it is , but ill look like a douche just for dreads haha

 

It's long enough for neglect but, I doubt you could get a full set of dreads tomorrow.

 

true , thanks i plan on waiting till like the end of February before i get them , I just want them done before my daughter is born ! which is march 28th

 

Just go neglect now, bro. Backcomb just falls out and you end up going neglect anyway

 

they say you need 3 inches to backcomb, if you go neglet that short you wont have any form of dreads for at least two years, but good luck to you

Give it untill 4-5 inches if you're gonna use an "all in one" method

um, a bit short for backcombing or twist n rip. perhaps buy a wool hat and start rubbing it around on your head for the next month or so. maybe you can try backcombing after that.

otherwise, i suggest neglect. if you're having a baby soon, neglect would be easy since you should be focusing on caring for your child.

either way, you won't see anything that looks remotely like dreadlocks until 6-8 mos. in.

 

This. I started when my hair was OP lenghth. didnt have the bieber style tho. Just stop brushing/running fingers through and wash will all natural residue free shampoo. I suggest bar if ya got short hair. The lathering will really encourage knots.



This is my length right before I decided to neglect. I started getting mini dreads at like two months.
