What do you all think? Obviously seeing Kanye West is worth the 3 day admission alone. Some good acts, I'd be really interested in seeing Black Keys, Animal Collective and Leftfield. I've already seen Chemical Brothers and The Strokes tho so and most the other top billings dont really thrill me, thinking ill pass.
aside from obvious acts like kings of leon, who are awesome live, and animal collective. skrillex and cage the elephant are worth seeing. shpongle is on there too, and ratatat. damian marley & nas is surprisingly good. health is going to be there too, which was a band in league with crystal castles in their early days though i've never listened to their music, would be cool to see them. i'd be interested to see arcade fire too never seen them before. i never understood why someone would go to coachella though when there are way better festivals. oh, and i think, FUCK KANYE!
all i can say is "MEH" i'd pass it up if it was even a possibility for me to go, which it isn't...but there's only a few names that i recognize that would be somewhat worth seeing...
Ooooo I missed Shpongle but have already seen him as well as Paul van dyk twice who would be headlining the edm that night. I heard cage the elephant sucks balls live, have heard good thing about crystal castles but I'm not really into their music.
I'd go if I had so much money I didn't know what to do with, buuut that's not the case so il have to pass gas on coachella this year. Besides, this is obviosly where it's at. il be at chingy's show. Haha that guys name just makes me laugh just thinkin about it.
I think Kings of Leon are awesome. I also like 12th planet, Nosaj thing, and Excision so I'd go the first day if I could.
i would be interested in seeing the black keys, bright eyes, cold war kids, erykah badu, cee lo, and the tallest man on earth, but I don't think that justifies the ticket price so I think i'll pass this year
i didn't see ratatat was on the list. did you hear that from me? cuz i must say, they did indeed suck balls when i saw them open for silversun pickups https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfEdlMsPj9E"]YouTube - Cage The Elephant the obvious good ones to me are arcade fire and the strokes (i'm jealous that you saw them, GB) interpol put on a really good show last summer and i'd like to see broken social scene. also i noticed empire of the sun and moving units - i like a few songs by them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nb8fNnIaTQ"]YouTube - Pink Thoughts - Moving Units https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02_Lhj1gxO8"]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. weird dudes in that band how much are tickets?
I think its $269 for all 3 days, didn't see single day pass prices. I went a few years ago and it was $100 for the day. They also had different prices for the single day passes based on demand. Interpol would be worth seeing and yah I heard that cage the elephant was garbage live from you pork. I'd hang out at the edm/techno tent most the day if I went probably and alot those DJs play at California massives fairly often anyways.
that's crazy expensive. i guess "real" music festivals usually are. plus there are a lot of fucking rules. no chairs, no fires, no camping? sounds kinda lame.
no camping, seriously? so you have to leave the festival grounds every night and get a hotel room? fuck all that
when i saw them at roo the lead singer was wearing a red strech suite like the green one from always sunny in philadelphia.. lol. he was so fucked up! they were throwing water bottles of acid into the crowd. lol... i remember at one point the dude was like: yeah good job you got some in your mouth. now you have about 15 minutes till your world turns upside down. then you'll be fucked up! like mee!! hahaha. granted, it was the last day of bonnaroo. the audio recording of this is pretty bad but they sounded really good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZugSwqSIsM"]YouTube - Cage the Elephant - In One Ear (beginning) (Bonnaroo 2009)
The 3 day pass includes a camping permit I think, the place is out in the middle of the desert not sure why one would want fire. I'm sure chairs at least are permitted on the camp site though.
yeah its not a true fest if there is no on-site camping. is this the fest in the middle of chicago where you have to drive like 45 mins to your campisite? lol, that is the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Granted, they do have 1 or 2 groundbreaking electronic artists on the lineup. DERU played a few years back (never though in a million years he would play an MTV fest like this) and this year they have Mount Kimbie from the UK - widely considered an innovator of ambient/downtempo dubstep. something a little differerent than your typical whomp whomp trashstep that all sounds the same. Take would be cool too. Forgot if I saw Eskmo in there somewhere or not, he is fun too. if you go, make sure you see those artists!
sorry for the confusion about camping...i read "Tent Caming NO LONGER AVAILABLE" but it means that it's sold out i think, not that there isn't camping there were a hell of a lot of restrictions though (can't bring food or alcohol, if i'm not mistaken again) which i'm sure you can get away with bending some edit: looks like i'm wrong about the food and alcohol too. i dunno wtf i was reading
