Of course he's set up. People setting up other people has happened since the dawn of time, Assange's case being no different. I personally keep Julian Assange in very high regard, I even idolize him to some degree.
I personally agree with Assange's cause and continue to defend wikileaks and an organisation, but there is something about Assange himself that gives me the creeps. I'm not sure what it is but if I had met him in person prior to knowing who he was, I don't think that I would have trusted him.
Much respect to Mr. Assange for reminding journalists everywhere that they need not merely be puppet repeaters, but that they actually have the ability to INFORM, if they indeed so choose to do so. Also, the Bradley Manning detention is a fucking travesty of the utmost proportions...
I think Assange is a CIA asset who may or may not know his role in the game. Wikileaks is a joke. It didn't reveal anything we don't already know. However, it did serve as a convenient way to "leak" information that the government wanted to be leaked pertaining to the War on Terror and the countries on the target list. But what did Wikileaks reveal? Not a fucking thing. Assange may be a darling of the left, but he's not a darling of real truth advocates who can see beyond all the controlled opposition that the system puts out to confuse people. Maybe if Wikileaks actually revealed real truth I would have a higher opinion.
LMAO! If I added up everyone who you think is part of this VAST GLOBAL CONSPIRACY you constantly harp on, there would be nobody left for them to conspire against. Give it a break, PR. And quit thinking you and everyone else are victims of this conspiracy. You are only as powerless as you believe yourself to be. On another note, I am wondering why Assange has NOT released all the info on the Banks he promised so long ago. How have they managed to stop him from doing that? What kind of threats have they made? (probably against his life!) He again promised to release info on some corporations in a couple of months. What is ridiculous is how little Wikileaks has done since Julian was arrested. Apparently whomever was helping him has abandoned Wikileaks or are too afraid to post new info. They did release the entire group diplomatic cables without any editing. What was the point of that? There was little of interest in 90+% of it. How much important info is Wikileaks still just sitting on? Many who worked with Wikileaks and those who leaked the info are very upset that so much info has never seen the light of day. And what of the rival group that was formed by Wikileaks people who were disillusioned with Assange's antics? Where are their releases? I think there is much fear among these people since they are probably being watched constantly these days.
So why does the media endlessly talk about him and give Wikileaks so much attention and credibility? They're afraid of him, yet they seem to give him a lot of attention and have made him more or less into a household name. So if he has all of this information, where is it? I have yet to be surprised at any of the information that has been "leaked," and I doubt there will be anything more coming that reveals the true nature of the beast. I mean, c'mon, this has been a whole lot of nothing, yet some people are acting like so much has been revealed. But what? That the government murders people in cold blood? Well, no shit.
