Another way of putting it is that all or most religions are attempts by humans to express their sense that there is "something big out there" and/or "in here".
Yup, it's pretty clear. Unfortunately, most people don't understand why that would be the reason for the similarities.
But then it isn't expressing an individual sense of there being something bigger if you you follow a religion? Then it becomes following something that you are told.
You eventually begin to arrive at the same understandings that was always told to you. In other words, what was once thought of as meaningless to you, suddenly has meaning through learning of things. You begin to see how they arrived at the conclusions.
Not really. Not all spiritual beliefs are based on authority. I choose a religion that I think most closely fits my beliefs.
christians can say it because christians believe it. however the religion came imto being, that's a part of it. i don't really understand why anyone would get angry about it, except for being harassed by proseletyzers. jeez. seriously, they need to stop. there isn't anyone who's interested who can't find a church to attend.
I was an Egyptian recon for 3 years, and never encountered ANY of the 'similarities' Zeitgeist lists. As far as I'm concerned, they pulled most of it out of their asses. Try watching 'Zeitgeist Refuted' for a movie that cites it's sources.
