First I'll say, I didn't watch obama on youtube, i had way more important things to do.

Drug courtsrofl... we already have them... Last time i was arrested was 2004(knock on mahogny), i had just turned 18 and graduated HS. Got pulled over, had around 500$ in my pocket in mostly 10's and 20's. Officer looks through all the money and finds an empty weed bag, has tiny fucking peices anyone would throw away, got charged for possetion(that is spelled wrong..?). Went to drug court and through the "Drug Diversion Program"... It worked well, 12 clean consecutive piss tests took me over a year, but they didn't kick me out, but thanks to that i have no criminal record, and the only thing in Diverted me from was riding in cars with pot..

...sigh... when are they going to wake up?

Probably because it makes people feel empowered. As a matter of fact, if you look at the thread by Lunaverse, i am pretty sure he answered the question i voted for and linked. That is beside the point though cause i could care less....

I dont know where i stand on legalization. To be honest, i dont think it should be legalized. Ive been smoking for probably 4 or 5 years now, although i quit around christmas. And everyone i know locally who smokes weed, is a bum. They have no goals in life all they do is sit around and get high, everyday. Then they go out and do dumb shit like arsen and shit and harrass old people and its just retarded. Plus, everybody says ohhhh weed is the safest man noone dies from it. Yeah okay. But ive seen people be changed by it, my one friend is like permanently retarded now from it, anytime he gets high now he literally goes insane. It leads to criminal activity, and just nothing really. No matter what kind of argument you make against this its true, when you get high all you wanna do is get high the next day. And what are you gonna get out of life getting high everyday and sitting on your ass? Thats what losers do dude. Now i agree, it all depends on the person because some may get high and just be normal good citizens, but the bad would deffinitely outweigh the good. Then all the drug dealers would switch to selling other drugs since weed would no longer be the cash crop, and youd have heroine and crack being pushed on people even more. No good would come from legalization except maybe more tax money which what do we need more taxes for, honestly, we're taxed enough. If you cant handle life without a substance then maybe you need to get a life

 

You just hang out with some shitty people and personally have a drug dependence problem. Sometimes I smoke weed often, other times I don't smoke weed at all, your persona experience doesn't make it universal. Considering the amount of people who smoke weed in both high school and college and managed not to sit around thinking about getting high all day and do fine I'd in fact say the opposite is true.

And if people are going to buy weed, why do you want the money going to some douchebag drug dealer vs government coffers helping everyone. They wouldn't move onto selling other drugs, that's asinine. Most weed dealers only sell weed so the weed they smoke is free.

 

Well that is true, but also you have to consider environmental factors... Kids growing up in the ghetto or whatever you care to call it that sell heroin probably started selling weed.. thats just my opinion and could be completely false statistically.

 

That's just the whole gateway argument in different form though, it's like those people if they were the older one in their group also got liquor for people too at one point. Lots of people get liquor for people, lots of people sell weed, most don't move onto crack and smack.
(Anecdotally, my friend's main H dealer back in the day was actually a 40 year old something former 82 airborne paratrooper.)

Though really if anything it's more reason to fully legalize so young people can't be drawn into the drug dealing world of easy money so early like most dealers are. It also lessens exposure to other drugs if you can get weed from a store(or have older people do it for you like everyone does with liquor) vs getting it from a drug dealer who's inevitably is going to be like "yo I know this guy with percs, you know anyone that wants any"

 

yes but now youre also upping the chance of marijuana abuse, because now instead of not being able to get it sometimes because dealers are dry, you could go to the store and buy all you want. also idc what you say, a street dealer who cant sell weed anymore will move on to other drugs or robbery or other hustles.

Every dealer I've ever went through sold only weed, and usually didn't do it for a huge profit but just to get some extra spending money and weed for themselves. The douchebags that are likely to move on from dealing pot to dealing harder drugs or husting people or robbing people will do so because they are, simply put, not good people. it has nothing to do with weed being a gateway to dealing harder drugs and it has nothing to do with not being able to sell weed anymore.

As for the marijuana abuse, I think responsible citizens have the right to choose when and how much they smoke pot. If someone ruins their life because all they do is sit around and smoke and have no other priorities, that is because they are dumbasses. They would find other ways to ruin their life if it weren't for weed.

Intelligient people who choose to partake in smoking should be intelligient enough not to abuse it, and if they aren't its really not the government's job to try to stop them from ruining their lives. Its called personal responsibility and its a really great concept.

I just wanted to add to the point that is being made about MJ abuse. First of all.. no such thing.

However, take a look at my shit hash thread and consider that and all the other shit lumps of hash or bags of weed I have imbibed into my lungs as a result of being unable to acquire anything decent to smoke. Add to that the number of times I have relapsed into tobacco abuse and the drinking and then think to yourself, what would be the solution to all this?

Marijuana abuse is: Not being able to purchase it ,, Like BOOZE and TOBACCO.. one I havent used since I was 18yrs old, the other tobacco I just quit recently.. I really enjoyed the withdraw symptoms, hallucination, irritable, still going where I kept my tobacco, going there with forgetfulness, habitually thinking I need tobacco after a meal...

Funny I dont have withdraw symptoms when I havent smoked cannabis for hours and hours. I dont wake up seeking my cannabis or need it with my coffee..

Withdrawal symptoms can be fun when you start to get that head rush, and you smoke some weed, you are really flying for days after. In a kind of edgy not good way, but in a goodf way because you know you are getting healthier.

Sometimes I wake up in the night, and I want some.. but I don't bother becaues i can't be bothered with the effort involved. That and i just think that it would be a waste of what little I have left to smoke it and then fall asleep...
