A male silverback gorilla named Ambam has caused quite a stir recently and has excited animal observers. Ambam began walking upright in an open enclosure at a wildlife park in Kent, south-east England. Some are saying that it's proof of evolution. Silverback gorillas usually walk around on all fours with an arched back and their knuckles pointed forward. Ambam, a 21-year-old bachelor (he's single ladies ) is the largest gorilla at that particular habitat, weighing in at 485 pounds. Apparently his new upright stance and walk makes him appear more intimidating. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_ljI-kGVn4&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube - Gorilla learns to walk like a man
I don't know why but that music in the video reminded me of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LxC3M-Yngs"]YouTube - Put The Lime In The Coconut lol Honestly he looks more intimidating on al fours... but im a dumb human so what do I know
It's a mild curiosity, nothing more. I don't understand why this is getting so much attention. The worst part is people who don't understand biology at all saying "HURR DURR EVOLUTION BECUZ IS WALK LIKE A MAN BUT IT IS A MONKEY."
if you ever see a gorilla driving a BigFoot, your compact car better not be in the way.. They are terrible drivers, they just learned to walk upright.. lol. A Gorilla is not a Monkey, Its in the APE family..
After watching that video, his rear end looks odd when standing. I hope he evolves a little more. What is interesting is that his father and siblings also have done or do this. I found it a little haunting when he looked back at the cameras, it made me wonder what he was thinking. I am being serious with that statement. There was something in his eyes that was very questioning.
he was thinking. "Should I walk over this way, or this way,. hummm Maybe this way? decisions decisions..
Maybe or what are you idiots looking at? I always find that when there is a shot of their eyes they seem to be really thinking.
It sounds like Planet of the Apes all over again Before you know it he’ll start to speak and Ricardo Montalbán will hide him for fear he'll be executed by the fascist government Hotwater
I was mocking people, which is why I used the quotation marks. If you had cared to read the entirety of my post as opposed to simply nitpicking one part of it you would see that I was making fun of people who know nothing about biology who: A) Think that bi-pedal movement has anything to do with evolution And: B) are stupid enough to think apes are monkeys.
If bi pedal movement made him mate more successfully and that trait were learned by his offspring, that would be a perfect example of microevolution. Natural selection increasing mating chances, making gene transfer more likely. Evolution doesn't simply refer to gene mutation.
i just saw that on the newsa few minutes ago i have seen many mammals stand up straight, occasionally reptiles if i find the right kind of broad
People sometimes act like they expect a monkey's hair to fall out and for it to start speaking english, only then is it evolution. Evolution happens in tiny increments.
Maybe they can be taught to use credit cards. More customers for cheap plastic shit from China! arty: :leaving:
Seriously...? It's a step of evolution because they are learning a new language with which they can communicate.
