The first three books are the best. I know they are old but seriously good and very detailed. I love books with very descriptive story that continues.

If you like these books, try the series by Anne Rice about the Mayfair witches and the Taltos....absolutely excellent reading.

I'll have to try those. I love Anne Rice's vampire chronicles. She makes her stories so interesting, its like she created another world. I love it when writers do that. You know then, you got a good book.

absolutely. I read these books before I read any of her vampire books and thats what made me fall in love with anne rice. I called in sick to work just so I could finish the witching hour lol, I did nothing for like 4 days but read that book. Her writing really draws you into the world she creates.

Absolutely love Anne Rice's writing. The Vampire Chronicles are amazing, and a lot of her other work is phenomenal too. Just finished reading Taltos again, and a book about the Castrati (forget the name, will have to check my bookshelf). That book, although so different in nature from her more well known books was awesome also.

I used to love Anne Rice, but I haven't read her works in years... Now I want to go back and do it! I loved Louie, and the Queen... My favorite thing about Rice is that so many of her vampires were not the whiny little girlie-men that are so dominant today. They were powerful, dominant monsters, as vampires should be!

I read "The Vampire Lestat" a looooong time ago and it was really really good. Her books can put a vibe on you for sure but that one was my favorite.

I actually just read the initial 4 of the Chronicles...planning on getting the rest of the vampire books by her, too and reading those. She's an unbelievable writer!

i find the best part of anne rice's books is that her style and her voice changes as she writes. which, i think, is only natural considering the space of time between each book. if you read the vampire chronicles i would recommend reading the witching hour, lasher, and taltos before you read blackwood farms or blood canticle. there is some crossover of storylines that goes on, hope i didn't spoil anything by saying this though!
