My wife and myself have just bought 200 ac. in the town of Teabo in the Mexican state of Yucatan. Our idea is to put together a fully self sustainable community. This is a new thing for us and we are not entirely sure how to go about finding interested people. I have looked at several sites and groups, but they so far have had a religious bases or either they were the end of the world types. We are just open minded people that are tired of the rat race lifestyle. We are open to all lifestyles as long as they are peaceful and non-confrontational. We have spent the last two years trying to buy this land and now that we have it we need help to build our dream. We are thinking some type of cooperative or buy in situation, although we are open to alternative ideas. this is our first posting so any question or suggestions are welcome.eace:
can list on ic.org, for starters, if that appeals to you. other than that, I can private message ya but you have to turn the PM function on for your hipforums account.
i can not activate pm on my account. paypal will not accept my Mexican c.c., so I can only be contacted by email.
Oh hey. You need to more posts, then you'll be able to turn it on. It's an anti-spam feature. Maybe you should put up a disguised email address? like fruit cake at jumping dot com? Dunno. I'd like to send you some offline messages and see how it can be helped along. I've got a close contact who is planning on moving south, probably to costa rica, and another to belize.
ok i got a email address just for you and anybody else that might be interested. my address is bareranch1@hotmail.com
right now it is just forest. i do not have pic now(i will take some this weekend) the approx. lon and lat are 89:14:30lon 20:26:00lat. At the moment the land is totally wooded. the farm has not been active for about 40 years so the trees took over. the upside of this is plenty of wood for construction. on a different note my wife and myself are currently running a small motel 2 hours north of the property on the beach, so we have accommodations for anyone serious enough to come down and check it out.
Here is the link to google maps....this sounds interesting Ramblin, i'll have to email for more details. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=longitude+latitude+google+maps&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
